Trojan Scoop
November 2024
Welcome back, from Dr. Gonzalez!
Greetings Catalina Community!
I hope you are in good health and enjoying the cold weather.
I am pleased to share with you that we have earned a solid letter B grade from the state. Catalina has never earned a B letter grade until now. Our teachers and students are doing awesome learning, which is now evident in our letter grades. Thank you to our fantastic faculty of teachers for all they do to make teaching relevant and engaging. I am so proud of our students who are in their classes daily, on time, and engaged! All of our collective work has paid off. Our commitment to academic excellence starts with being in class on time and ready to engage in the day's work. Congratulations Catalina!
If you need extra tutoring, remember to come to the library on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 for one-on-one tutoring.
I enjoyed seeing many of you at our Fourth Annual Truck or Treat! Thank you for coming out in costume, getting candy, and building community. We are thankful to the many groups and individuals who donated candy. Our newly reconnected partner, the Palo Verde Neighborhood Association, graciously donated candy. Thank you! Also, thanks to our AVID team for making our Fourth Annual Trunk or Treat a reality. This year, the haunted house was a popular addition. In collaboration with our science department, our theater class did an outstanding job creating our first haunted house.
We have had an excellent fall season in sports, and we look forward to our winter sports, which are already starting to practice. Come out and play Winter sports. Students remember that all athletes must always uphold the athletic code of conduct. Failing to do so could result in sitting out games.
Let's have an incredible second quarter, Catalina Trojans!

This Teen Telehealth program will make healthcare for students more convenient and accessible. Easy access to healthcare helps students stay or become healthy and focus on learning by not needing to leave campus for appointments.
