This past week was a wonderful week of low-tech learning at the Primary.

We are at the time of the year where it is cool in the morning and warm in the afternoon. If you have your kids dress in layers, they will be warm enough in the morning and cool enough for the afternoons.

Additionally, if your child has been wearing a sweatshirt to school and it hasn't made it home, you may want to check out our lost and found. It is filling up quickly with lost jackets and sweatshirts.

If you did not sign up for care previously but you are anticipating the need for care starting in October you can fill out the interest form below.

Edwardsburg has a long standing custom of not having Halloween parties. This year, the K-2 buildings are going to try to have costume parties. However, we are placing some pretty strict guidelines on costumes for two reasons: 1) we need to protect the innocence of our young students and 2) what might not be scary for some students, may be terrifying for others.

Party information will come from individual classrooms.

When picking out a costume for your child, please follow the following guidelines:

• All costumes are to be appropriate for school and should not be offensive in design or intent.
• Costumes cannot feature inappropriate themes or characters or reference drugs/alcohol etc.
• Props including plastic swords, guns, wands, bows, arrows, etc. are not permitted. If brought to school, these items will be held in the office until a parent/guardian can pick them up.
• Please avoid costumes that are overly scary, including any variance of a clown costume.
• Face painting and hair coloring should be done at home.
• No "blood"

We would really like this to be a fun event for our students, so please help us make it fun for everyone by adhering to our costume requests.

Kindergarten and first grade students misplace items all of the time, especially jackets, water bottles and lunch bottles. If the items has the student name on it or in it, we can easily get it back to your child. Please make sure you label EVERYTHING! Our lost and found fills up quickly and we have trouble reuniting students with lost items if they are not labeled. You would be suprised by how many students have the exact same lunch box! Again, please label everything.

Edwardsburg Primary is home to our district's Kindergarten and 1st Grade Students. Located in the village of Edwardsburg, Michigan, we offer classes that are traditional, gender specific, looping and multi-age. There is something for everyone at Edwardsburg Primary.
