we are in need of volunteers!
Hello to All New and Returning Monte Vista Families!
Do you love animals? Did you know we encourage our families to get to know and learn about our school pets? You can get involved through our 4-H Program or simply volunteer for our wonderful school! We are looking to expand our animal care team and would love your help. No experience required, but a love of animals is helpful! This might be a win-win for families who are unable to have personal pets at home. We have two Lionhead rabbits, four egg-laying hens, a number of Red-Eared Slider water turtles and brand-new baby chickens! We have a very dedicated parent, Mrs. Cordova, who makes sure our sweet school animals always have clean pens, fresh water, fresh food and treats. I love the saying, “Many hands make light work!" We can set up convenient schedules that work around your schedules. Weekend coverage would be very appreciated too! Our animals need year-round coverage, including holidays and breaks. We encourage our families to spend time with our mascots.
Did you know Mrs. Kim even brings out our Lionhead rabbits so families can enjoy reading with their young families? All our families are invited to try out this wonderful and innovative program created by our very own Mrs. Cordova! I would love to give Miss Kim some much needed assistance in caring and loving our school critters. We invite you to check us out. We will happily show you our set up and what we have found to be a good, workable system for maintaining our animals. You can come once a week, daily, whatever your schedule allows. We need a few reliable folks to count on for more coverage. Younger students should have parental supervision. We love seeing our animals get cuddles too!
Think you may be interested? Feel free to contact me. We will be happy to introduce you to our animals to see if you might enjoy getting to spend more time with them and help to keep them safe and healthy. Keep an eye out for more announcements. I will be looking at a group time to introduce interested families too. I’m regularly on campus on Thursdays but can arrange to meet you most days. Kim and I will happily get you started too!
4-H’ers, please let me know if you’re interested in adding animal care too. We will add some animal care along the way, but there is never enough time to do everything we want to do during our lab time! Do we have some animal fans who might need to keep track of volunteer hours? I bet we could help with that too! I can be reached by text or email at:
