Tumuaki Korero
Kia ora e te whānau,
Our native pathway is looking absolutely incredible! "Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takatini" – My strength is not of mine alone, but of a collective. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came together for our native planting day. This beautiful accomplishment was only possible because of the collective spirit and dedication each of you brought.
A huge thanks to Tim for all his mahi in organizing, Rick and Ethan for their hard work digging the holes, Ethan from Thinkwater for finishing off the watering system in his own time, and Grandad Phil, who tirelessly cares for the plants. We are also deeply grateful to our whānau from Spring Creek PlayCentre—what a legacy we are building together for our tamariki and community. To our friends, both new and familiar, and our incredible whānau, your support is a powerful reminder of the strength we have as a community.
Today we celebrated our amazing teachers, and it was wonderful to see so many of you wearing bright colors and bringing in beautiful flowers and gifts. Seeing the smiles (and even some happy tears) on our wonderful teachers' faces was so rewarding. We truly are lucky to have such a special school and community.
Our teachers are currently focused on assessments in readiness for reporting at the end of the year. We’re also looking forward to our upcoming 150th celebration! The school will be open to the public, and we’re excited to share all the amazing things happening at our kura. More information will follow.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are starting to consider our learning groups. If you have a pre-schooler or know anyone who is considering schools, please encourage them to come meet our team. We have a very inclusive learning environment that supports all children, especially those with neurodiverse needs, and we welcome students from Year 1 to Year 6.
Thank you so much for all your support with our fundraising efforts, from seeking sponsorships for your child to sharing our Givealittle page far and wide. If you would like to know more about our fundraising goals, please feel free to come and see me – we greatly appreciate any support to help fundraise for our tamariki.
Have a lovely restful weekend
Me mahi tahi tātau mō te oranga o te katoa.
Working together for all to succeed, nobody is left behind.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Cheryl Alderlieste
