Input Needed for LEAD Capstone Candidate's Work
Teddy Overman, one of our LEAD Capstone candidates, is seeking your input for his project:
Hello parents of LEAD students,
My name is Teddy Overman and I am a senior working on a LEAD Capstone project. I would like to get your input concerning what you think about Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Schoology and Summit so I can work to start creating a newer, better one for the future. Please take my survey here: Learning Program/Platform Preferences (Parents)
I appreciate your help with this Capstone Project!
Emerging Leaders Fundraiser for Foster Children
Freshmen Emerging Leaders are raising money and collecting donations to build gift boxes for Foster Kids of Platte County this holiday season!
There are plenty of different age groups you can donate for! Some donations include baby wipes, lotion, self care items, puzzles, toys, hats and gloves.
We are asking for your help by dropping off items at LEAD from this list or you can have your donation shipped directly to LEAD by using this Amazon list!
We need all donations by DECEMBER 9.
Thank you so much for your support!
Exciting Off-Campus Opportunity for Juniors and Seniors
Due to the nature of mastery learning and self-direction, some of our most motivated students actually complete all of their course work before the last day of the semester. While this is wonderful, it does leave some students with little to do as the semester winds down.
We want our students to be productive, and we also want them to give back to their community. In some cases, we also want them to complete their A+ hours.
For that reason, this year LEAD is partnering with elementary schools all around the district who are looking for extra help during the incredibly busy week before winter break. LEAD juniors and seniors who are finished with their course work can sign up to be an assistant at a local elementary school from December 16th through December 20th if they meet the following criteria:
Students must:
- Have no serious discipline issues on file.
- Be finished with all courses by December 13th (teachers will sign a form indicating course completion)
- Have 95% attendance.
- Be on track for graduation.
Juniors and seniors will receive communication from Dr. Early about this opportunity next week. Once we see who is interested, and once we vet the list to make sure students meet the criteria above, we will send out a menu to juniors and seniors to let them sign up for a day to work at an elementary school.
While we hope to have enough available opportunities for everyone, we can't guarantee that every interested junior or senior will get to participate. It will ultimately come down to how many students each elementary school requests.
Guardian permission will be required.
We're looking forward to seeing our junior and senior LEADers helping around the district!

Invest Now Fundraiser for LEAD Physical Education
Our students have inspired this request—many have expressed the need for a broader range of weights to help them progress confidently and safely at their own pace.
Adding more weight options can support each student’s journey, from beginners learning proper form to advanced lifters reaching new goals. This grant would help us create a more inclusive weight room that empowers students of all skill levels to feel confident, capable, and fully supported in their fitness goals.
Let’s give them the tools they need to succeed!
