Parents, the school sent out digital ID cards to all students on 8/21 and 8/22. These digital ID cards make check-in at events efficient. We will send them again after winter break, but thought it may be helpful for you to know when they were sent the first time in case you wanted to find it and save it.

Can you believe it's time to start planning for the Spring 2025 semester? Look for details in the counseling newsletter.

CVCS Counseling Presents….

Our counselors will present on the following topics during the next few months. Be sure to look in the Newsletter for dates, times, and Zoom links

• Applying to a CSU and UC
• Taking college classes in high school (Concurrent Enrollment)
• Financial Aid and Scholarships
• Filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and CADAA

Look on the CVCS Guide to Concurrent Enrollment Programs (located on the school website under High School>Academics>College Courses) for the most updated directions and information regarding the Concurrent Enrollment process, including Important Dates to note for the registration packet dates and deadlines.

If you would like your student’s registration packet to be ready by the college’s first day of high school student registration, please submit the registration packet for counselor approval by the first deadline in red. Registration will continue until the first day of the Spring semester unless otherwise noted by the college. Also, please remember that our schools are closed for Thanksgiving and Winter break, and neither high school counselors nor colleges will be processing forms during that time. Please note the second deadline in red in order to receive your registration packet before the college’s deadline.

Hey Buzzing Bees! Hold onto your honey! It's that time again—registration for the 2024-2025 Spelling Bee is officially OPEN!

Monarch River Academy (MRA) December 5th

Students in grades 4th - 6th will spell from 9:00 am-9:45 am

MRA students in grades 7th - 8th will spell from 9:45 am-10:30 am

Yosemite Valley Charter (YVC) December 5th

Students in grades 4th - 6th will spell from 10:30 am- 11:15 am

Yosemite Valley Charter students 7th - 8th spell from 11:15 am-12:00 pm

Only the top two move on to the county bees and the dates are below.

*The annual Fresno County Spell Off will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Clovis Veterans Memorial District.

*Tulare County Spell off will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025. More details to follow.

Please check your calendars before signing up, to make sure your child can attend the County Bees in your area. Two students will move on from each age group and school. Please do not sign up for the school spelling bees if you cannot attend the county bee. The spelling bees cannot accommodate students outside of the listed grade levels.

Articulation refers to how clearly a person can produce sounds and words. It’s all about making sure your child’s speech is easy to understand. To support their progress, we encourage you to explore fun activities, videos and exercises designed to improve articulation in a fun and meaningful way.
