FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
The Boonville School District invites all Pirate families and community members to attend all extra-curricular events and share in the tradition and pride our students are building.
Please review the following expectations needed to maintain a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for all:
BEFORE THE GAME
Outside drinks or food will not be allowed inside the gate.
Concessions and Booster Club tailgates are available at home Pirate football games.
An adult must accompany all students Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade to attend the event.
FOOTBALL SEATING ZONES
Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade students are to sit with their parent(s) or accompanying adult. This week, there will be a boundary around the scoreboard, please stay clear of the boundary for your safety. Students may sit on the hill or on the B near the scoreboard, but parents/accompanying adults are responsible for supervision and must be able to see their child at all times. Students are not permitted on the track.
- LSE Middle School students are to sit with parents or in the designated section of the Home Bleacher (bleacher section closest to the concession stand).
BHS students are to sit with parents or in the designated section of the Home Bleachers (section closest to the band at football games).
FOCUS ON THE PIRATES
During the event, all Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade students are encouraged to be in their seating zones cheering on the Pirates, in the restroom, or at the concession stand making a purchase.
Please leave personal footballs, basketballs, frisbees, baseballs, softballs, etc. at home. Throwing or running games behind the stands or in the hallways is prohibited. Pirate community members young and old are amazing fans, and our teams need our attention and support!
District Supervision is provided at these events to uphold the expectations of everyone attending. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support. We look forward to seeing you at our Boonville Pirate football games!

Introducing Nurse Lainey
My name is Lainey Byrd! I'm the new school nurse. I grew up in Sedalia, MO and went to the University of Missouri and obtained an engineering degree before completing nursing school with a Bachelor's in Nursing from the University of Central Missouri. I've lived in Texas, Arizona, and Warrensburg, MO where all my nursing experience has been in a hospital setting helping families welcome their new babies. I also have three small children of my own (a 5-year-old and 3-year-old twins) so I can certainly relate to the worry of having someone else take care of your precious children.
School nursing is a big change from the hospital, but I am loving it so far! We have lots of great kids and I look forward to meeting them all. I want you to know that I would love to hear from you regarding your student and any questions or concerns you may have. Please do not feel that any question is silly or any concern too small. Email is a fantastic way to communicate with me! I plan to send information frequently and hopefully in this newsletter in the future that will hopefully be informative and help to keep our students safe. Prevention is the best medicine!
Thank you,
Nurse Lainey

SCHOOL COMMUNICATION
THE DB BEAT
- DB uses a weekly newsletter as the primary communication tool for upcoming events, activities, announcements, etc.
- The newsletter will be emailed on Friday afternoons with the subject line "THE DB BEAT".
- We encourage you to read The DB Beat to ensure you don't miss any announcements.
- We often hear that parents/guardians are overwhelmed by the number of emails they receive from schools, so we will send most information through the newsletter.
- Please make sure we have an email address on file for you that is checked regularly. David Barton Elementary and the Boonville School District routinely use email to communicate important information.
PARENT PORTAL
- Parent Portal is an excellent way to see your child’s assignment scores, attendance, grades, nurse’s office visits, etc.
- Please make sure you have access to the Parent Portal, if you need your login information please call the David Barton office at 660-882-6527 or email at db@bpsk12.net.
- Parent Portal also allows parents to update their contact information and their emergency contact information.
- It is imperative that we have current and accurate contact information for all students. Please notify the school if your phone number or email address changes.
- Parent Portal can be viewed on their smartphone app as well, this is an easy way to have the information available. The Campus Parent app can be downloaded in either the Apple App Store of the Google Play Store.
- Additional information on Parent Portal can be found here: https://www.bpsk12.net/parent_resources/parent_portal.
BACKPACKS/FRIDAY FOLDERS
- Students will bring home important information in today's Friday folder. Please check their backpacks, as some of the forms must be completed and returned.
- Please check student backpacks for documents, especially over the weekend. Information is routinely sent home in Friday folders.
SCHOOL MESSENGER
- Boonville Schools use School Messenger to send text messages about school closings, safety alerts, events, and more.
- Parents/guardians must opt-in to receive these notifications. This can be done by texting "Y" to 67587.
- Additional details about School Messenger can be found at https://www.bpsk12.net/parent_resources/school_alerts.
- The David Barton Facebook page is a fun way to see what our students are doing throughout the day! We encourage parents/guardians to follow us there https://www.facebook.com/davidbartonelem.
