October Activities Update
Always great to be a Spartan
Raise the Praise
"Thank YOU and all of your students and fellow staff members at Solon High School for helping to make this a successful event. I can say with absolute honesty that I have never been more proud of an ACT Annual Meeting than I was today.
Your students were committed to putting out an excellent product, enthusiastically problem solved, and worked as a cohesive team to convert classroom theory into real-world practice.
We did not tone down our aspirations for today's event; in fact, we ratcheted them up. I'm confident in saying that this year's annual meeting had more moving parts than any during ACT's 58-year history - a new venue, more speakers, more videos, and more players behind the scenes. It was stressful, but it's always stressful. That comes with the territory.
What is particularly gratifying is that this was an example of the "hands-on" education that often is discussed but is too seldom practiced. In these next few days I hope your students are able to celebrate the competence they developed in your class and the confidence they gained by working on our event.
The skills your students demonstrated lead to real jobs. Today your students proved they had the right stuff.
Again, thank YOU for the privilege of working with everyone at Solon High School. They could not have been more welcoming in their demeanor or more professional in their work. I encourage you to share this message with them.
Like you, I hope we all have the opportunity to work together again."
Opportunity for Growth
Little Reminder and.....
If you are a head coach or in charge of certain activity accounts and would like a monthly report, let me know and I will send you one after each monthly board meeting. I have some of you that email me when you want one and that is totally acceptable.
*Please check your expiration date on your coaching license. Don't get in a position that will make it difficult to re-certify before your season starts.
