Costume Parade
Our costume parade is planned for Thursday, October 31st! Weather permitting, parents are invited to watch the costume parade beginning at 8:30 on the playground blacktop area (behind the school). If it rains, we will communicate with families that the outside portion of the parade will be canceled. If you do not hear from us, please know that the parade will continue as planned. Teachers will communicate with families about any other details happening in the classroom. For that day.
Veterans Day Program
We are very excited to once again host a Veterans Day reception and program at Liberty Elementary! Any veteran in your family is invited to this special event on Friday, November 8th, at 8:30 a.m. This event is intended to celebrate and honor their service, and to help give our students a better understanding of what it means to serve our country. A continental breakfast will be offered to the veteran and his/her Liberty student-host before the program (8:30 a.m.). A special performance by our 2nd and 5th grade students will be enjoyed by everyone (9:10 a.m.)! Click here to RSVP so we know to expect your veteran at school on Friday, November 8th!.
Families of 2nd & 5th grade students are invited to attend the Veterans Day dress-rehearsal on Thursday, November 7th beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Liberty gym. Questions about the performance can be directed to Ms. Wehrkamp at lwehrkamp@wscloud.org.
Gently Used Clothing for the Health Office
Our Health Office is in need of some gently-used clothing that your children no longer need. Our littlest Leopards are often needing a change of clothes due to an ‘accident’ or a spill. We are hoping for boys and girls pants or leggings (sizes 7, 8, 10 & 12). We are also hoping for donations of boys boxer briefs (size 8) and girls underwear (sizes 6 & 8). Please send any items to school and drop them off at the main office or the clinic. Thank you for your donation!

Thank you to all the families who provided snacks during conference week! The staff truly appreciated the extra goodies during the long week of meetings. Also, thank you to the families who participated in the Chipotle fundraiser last week! Your continued support is greatly appreciated!
Read-A-Thon Fundraiser
The Read-A-Thon Fundraiser is going strong! At this writing, we are at 36% of our goal. Please continue to encourage your child to read and record their minutes for the PTA’s most successful fundraiser of the school year. The Read-A-Thon continues through next Wednesday, October 23rd. Remember that all reading counts: including read-alouds, audiobooks, and Lexia time. Follow this link to search for your student’s fundraising page. Prize winners will be announced at the Book Fair Family Night on Tuesday, October 29th. Keep reading!!!
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair sponsored by the Liberty PTA will be held during the week of October 28th. Your child will shop during their regular library time, or they can shop during Family Night on Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 5:30-7:30 p.m.. At Family Reading Night, families can shop the fair with their children and enjoy a treat from the Columbus Coffee Company (cider, hot chocolate, specialty coffees, boba, and even shaved ice can be purchased at the truck!). There will be a lollipop pull in the lobby for a chance to win Scholastic Dollars to spend at the fair. We also invite you to visit one of our theme rooms to see some of our wonderful teachers reading favorite books to your kiddos. Kids are welcome to come dressed in their PJs for a cozy evening of reading! The book fair accepts cash, checks or you can set up an eWallet with a set amount for your child. Follow this link to learn more about the eWallet system of payment.
We still need a few more volunteers to help out at the fair. If you have a couple of hours during the school day, please use this link to sign-up. Volunteers will help students select books, run a register, and straighten up the bookcases. Anyone is welcome to help - grandparents, other family members, or even neighbors. Volunteers will also receive Scholastic Dollars to spend at the fair as a thank-you for their time!
Veterans Day Program
The PTA is requesting assistance during the Veterans Day Program on November 8th. Volunteers will help with setting up the continental breakfast, keeping it stocked, and cleaning up afterwards. FREE Thanksgiving Meal from Worthington Presbyterian Church
Every year, Worthington Presbyterian Church helps the Worthington Community by providing all the ‘fixins’ needed to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for families who may need a little help during the holiday season. If your family would benefit from receiving a Thanksgiving meal, please contact Mrs. Roberts, our school counselor, at (614) 450-5220 or email her at rroberts@wscloud.org. Liberty has a set number of meals, so it’s first come first served. Families are asked to pick up the food on Tuesday November 26th (the last day of school before Thanksgiving break).
