As the end of Trimester 1 quickly approaches, I would like to remind all of our parents and students the importance of reviewing grades in Teacherease and the academic support we provide our students.
Catch Up WINN
This occurs during 3rd period each week Tuesday-Friday. Teachers refer students who have missing assignments/projects in one or more of their classes, or need to complete their iReady learning path in math or ELA. They are given additional time and support to complete the assignments. Parents and students will receive an email on Mondays indicating if they need to attend during the week.
Homework Club
This occurs each week after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:25-4:25. The students are given support by Ms. Perez or Mrs. Eiklor. Please check the student dashboard for the classroom locations. Students can take the 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm activity bus home.
8th Grade Expectations Letter Reminder
This is a friendly reminder to our 8th Grade parents and students of the academic expectations for the school year. This letter was sent earlier in September to all 8th grade parents. Please review the expectations with your child to ensure their success this year.
The end of Trimester 1 is Friday, November 15th. We appreciate your support.

In examining our student data from previous years, we consistently find that:
Students who miss 1 or 0 days of school per month throughout the school year are twice as likely to meet grade level expectations in reading and math than those who miss 2+ days of school per month.
Students who arrive on time to school also generally outperform those who are frequently tardy.
Without question, on-time attendance truly matters to student success. Knowing this, our goal is to help students and their families to build positive attendance habits this school year, and school administrators will be making an extra effort to monitor attendance more closely than ever. Please review this info sheet for some great tips to ensure your child is consistently in attendance and on time this school year.

Help support the Stratford PTA! We are looking for parent volunteers to help with fundraising for our school events planned for this year: 8th Grade Breakfast, 8th Grade Dance, and End of the Year Activities for our 6th and 7th grade students.
All of this would not be possible without the support of our parents and community businesses. Please join us via zoom at our next PTA meeting on Monday, October 21st at 6:30 pm. This is an opportunity for parents to take part in school activities, attend meetings, and collaborate with teachers and administrators.

I am looking for a new parent representative to represent Stratford on the District Leadership Team. These meetings are held at our district office and if chosen, you will join me and a teacher representative to learn more about district wide goals and initiatives.
