Superintendent's Message
January 22, 2025
Dear Newport Schools Parents, Families, and Staff:
I want to thank RENEWport for hosting a wonderful community dinner with Pell students and families last week. We deeply appreciate RENEWport and all of our community partners who are dedicated to working with our students and families encouraging partnership, community, attendance at school, and student achievement. We had over 200 participants strong! Thank you to everyone to help get 2025 off to a great start. Stay tuned for future grade level events.
Next Tuesday, January 28th at 5:30pm I will be hosting a virtual Superintendent’s Town Hall meeting. Please join me for this mid-school year update on our efforts to improve academic growth and achievement working with our teachers and implementing our strategic plan that focuses on classroom instruction, attendance, and student engagement. We will also have updates on the new Rogers High School construction updates, and more. Please use this form to register for the Town Hall and to receive the link to participate.
We all know it is a new calendar year when RIDE sends out the annual SurveyWorks survey. Please take the time to participate and provide feedback to us so we can learn more about what you as a parent, student, teacher or community member would like to see in our Newport Public Schools. See the school links here and further down in this newsletter.

Finally, I want to encourage everyone to enjoy some of the wonderful winter concerts and art exhibits our students are participating in. Click here and see below for a full schedule including the Thompson Middle School Winter Concert being held tomorrow evening at 6:30pm.
Let’s stay focused on Attendance Matters, Every Day, and remember students cannot learn if they do not attend school.
Have a great week of learning everyone!
