Environmental Science
In Mr. Shaffer’s Environmental class students experienced the "Ding Dong Mining Lab", students use cream-filled cupcakes to examine the effects of surface mining on ecosystems.
Tenth Grade Lit & Comp
In Mrs. Carroll’s class the students watched the short film “Hair Love” and identified the symbols present and what they thought these symbols might mean.
Ninth Grade Lit & Comp
After reading George Orwell's "Animal Farm", students in Mr. Hefner’s class learned about the symbolism behind the windmill from the novella and its historical significance relating back to the Russian Revolution. Then, students were asked to construct their own version of the windmill.
Geometry
Students in Ms. Aiken's and Mrs. Peterson's class learned how to translate a figure in a coordinate plane using posters with different golf courses!
US History
Students in Mrs. Jones class moved through various stations, including a Virtual Reality, to review key events, issues, and individuals related to the Civil War.
US History
Mr. Coulter designed an activity where students had the opporunity to experience the Oregon Trail that involved math and understanding the Oregon Trail route to determine if they would live or succeed in Oregon.
