Dear Eagle Families,
It's hard to believe it's already the first of October! We have an exciting month ahead at Elm Grove. This week, we're kicking things off with our Habit 2 Assembly and the first day of clubs. October is packed with great events like Picture Day, Class Spelling Bees, Red Ribbon Week, and so much more. Be sure to check out the "A Look Ahead" section below for all the details!
Attendance
We had an overall attendance rate of 96.15% last week, which was higher than the previous week! A big shout-out goes to our 3rd Graders who had the highest attendance at 97.62%! Thank you for your continued efforts to improve attendance!
Device Protection Plan
Oct. 11, 2024 is the last day to purchase a protection plan for this year for student devices. If you have not done so already, please take a moment to look this over and consider buying a protection plan now.

Dress Code Update
Attached to this newsletter, you will find our most recent Hays CISD dress code.
Birthday Treats
Parents may provide a treat of their choice for their child’s class on their birthday. This
treat must be served during the last 15 minutes of the school day.
- Parents should be sensitive to any existing food allergies in the classroom and
provide treats that would not endanger any students involved in the celebration.
- For parent convenience, birthday treats are available through the Child Nutrition
department. Parents can view the birthday celebration menu on the Child Nutrition Catering page on the district website.
Field Trips
Several of our grade levels have field trips coming up soon. Please note that students cannot be picked up by parents/guardians after returning from a field trip unless there are extenuating circumstances such as a family emergency, illness, or similar situations. Since field trips often return near the end of the day, it’s not a safe or feasible option for us to arrange pickups at that time. We also ask that students return from field trips the same way they arrived, unless they become ill during the trip. In such cases, parents can sign their student out using a sign-out sheet with the teacher. Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe field trip experience!

Congratulations to our very own Emree Orlaska! Her artwork was selected as one of six pieces to represent not only Elm Grove but also Hays CISD at the TASA/TASB Exhibition at the San Antonio Convention Center. We are so proud of Emree’s talent and creativity! What an incredible accomplishment!

Someone who thinks with the end in mind says:

EGES 5th Grade
Our 5th graders are hard at work, focused and determined to succeed! They’ve been setting goals and putting in great effort as they prepare for their upcoming assessments. We’re so proud of their dedication and can’t wait to see all they accomplish! Keep up the fantastic work, 5th grade!

Elm Grove PTA
Joining the Elm Grove PTA is a wonderful opportunity for parents to actively contribute to their child's education and overall school experience. The partnership between home and school is vital for student success, and by becoming a PTA member, you can help strengthen that bond. The PTA provides a platform for parents and teachers to collaborate, share ideas, and work together to create a positive and supportive environment for our students.
