SCHOOL UPDATE:
Dear Families,
What an amazing second last week we had here at Ecole Maple! We have lots of exciting news to share to our Maple community.
We were blown away by the amazing and variety of acts that entertained and amazed us at our TALENT SHOW! Thanks for everyone who shared their incredible talents and had the courage to perform in front of the school. See below for some pictures from the show!
Our ART/MURAL CONTEST participants were honoured and celebrated all on Friday with certificates and treats! Entries were displayed for viewing and will be sent home on Monday. Mural entries were provied to LaSalle students to incorporate in our outdoor mural designs. We look forward to seeing our murals installed soon. Maple definitely has some incredible artists from across the grades!
The SUMMER SEND OFF was a tremendous hit! The weather was uncertain but thankfully avoided us, and gave much needed relief to the heat! Thank you SAC for spearheading this event, your organization, volunteer efforts, and collaboration with community partners to host this event brought our school community together in a wonderful way.
We are very proud of our students behaviour and responsiveness to our spring FIRE and SAFETY DRILLS. Way to go Maple!
This Thursday starting at 9:45am is our YEAR END ASSEMBLY. We are looking forward to reflecting and sharing on all the growth and learning that happened throughout the year at Ecole Maple, as well as celebrating our students, athletes, and leaders!
REPORT CARDS go home on Wednesday, June 26th!
A big congratulations to our EQUITY CLUB, who worked so hard organizing some amazing events for us this year, finishing up with our year-end celebration. Thank you all for your hard work! We had a special pin presentation as well, see some photos below!

Girls Inc Summer Day Camp for Girls+ in Grades 1 to 3!
This year we are able to provide a limited number of spaces (15) in each camp week in KFL&A for girls+ in grades 1 to 3! These spaces are free, and we expect them to fill up quickly! We ask that participants are only signed up for one week of camp during the summer to allow as many girls+ as possible to access the Girls Inc. Experience.
Girls in grades 1 to 3 will get to work with camp leaders dedicated to their group for the week. They will spend time in the gym, outside, and in a classroom space throughout the week. They will also participate in our age-appropriate self-defence program, Project BOLD!
For full camp details and to register, use the package attached to this email or click HERE.
Please contact Program Coordinator Andrea Martin for additional information at andreamartin@girlsinclimestone.ca or 613-433-6252
STUDENT TRANSFERS AND FAMILY MOVES
We are coming closer to the end of our school year and are looking to plan for the 2024-25 school year. We kindly ask that families complete this form if you are moving your child to another school. This will provide information that will help ensure that your child's records are sent to the correct location. This does not replace a school registration - you will still need to register your child/children at their new school. Families will need to complete one form for each student. If you have any questions please include them in the comments section below, or contact the school at maple@limestone.on.ca
For Grade 6 Families: Please complete this form for your child indicating where they will be attending school for intermediate. If the school is an LDSB school (i.e. Vanier, LaSalle, Calvin Park). your child's records will be transferred and you do not need to register your child at the new school.

LDSB Concussion Protocol
LDSB has Concussion Protocol that must be followed by all staff (see Form 142-1 Flow Chart). The Flow Chart breaks down each step of the process based on if a student is conscious or unconscious/seizing/convulsing and a concussion is not suspected or suspected. There is an Administrative Procedure 142 Re: Concussions and Form 142-3 Sample Concussion Prevention Strategies as well for your review and reference.
If a student takes a blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body that transmits a force to the head, we must suspect a concussion.
A Student With A Suspected Concussion
If your student does not pass Form 142-1 Tool to Identify a Suspected Concussion a concussion is suspected as signs or symptoms were observed and/or reported. This completed form is sent home with your student and filed in the Main Office. Your student may also have received first aid (i.e, ice, a bandage, gauze).
If a concussion is suspected, your student will receive a brightly coloured wrist band to alert all staff that they will be:
immediately removed from play
not allowed to return to play that day, EVEN if they noted they were feeling better (no gym, no recess, no community walks, no field trips, no team sports)
not to leave the premises without parent/guardian (or emergency contact) supervision (i.e., no bus, no walking home alone)
Your student will also receive Form 142-4 Documentation of Medical Examination which needs to be completed by a parent/guardian (signed and dated) and returned to school the next day. As per protocol, a copy goes to the teacher and a copy is placed in your student's Ontario Student Record. If your student does not return this Form, they will NOT be allowed to return to physical activity, and will receive a new bracelet until we receive the completed form.
Should your student be diagnosed with a concussion, please alert the school right away, and complete and return the below documents to the school:
Form 142C4 Documentation for a Diagnosed Concussion - Return to Learn/Return to Physical Activity Steps 2a-6 (this is a process and will take time to work through between school and home)
We take suspected concussions/diagnosed concussions very seriously and we appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of your student.
Please reach out with any questions.
