We Love Our Stakeholders
February 2024
Stakeholder's Luncheon
The Comal Education Foundation's inaugural event held on January 26, welcomed nearly 100 stakeholders including principals, board of trustees, cabinet members, Support Services leadership, top donors and community partners who help make our mission come to life. The event showcased the success of the 2022-2023 fiscal year, strategic growth of the organization, and recognized some exceptional grant winners and supporters.
We are very grateful to all of our stakeholders, sponsors and partners not just for your financial support, but believing in our work and our mission. We understand that economic hardships limit discretionary funds for most of us, and we strive to maximize your donor dollars to benefit every student in Comal ISD. Every gift we receive matters, and every dollar you give to the Comal Education Foundation is a vote of confidence in our organization and keeps our volunteers inspired to make a difference in the future of education.
❤️ Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️

Recognition and Awards
Leader of Innovation Award
Mrs. Christine Hall, first grade teacher at Oak Creek Elementary, has been awarded more than $28,400 through four Innovation Grants in the last two years for Math, Science, Reading and English Language Arts resources. Test scores have improved significantly with the hands-on learning tools she's brought to her classroom.
Campus of Innovation
Indian Springs Elementary has received nine Innovation Grants and three New Teacher Grants totaling more than $29,700 toward programs in Gifted & Talented, Science/Technology/Engineering and Math, music, and English Language Arts. CEF attributes this distinction as a result of the visionary leadership Principal Mary Stults encourages upon her team.
Community Impact Award
Receiving an Innovation Grant in Spring 2023 for solar eclipse glasses, Mr. Fey hosted a community-wide watch party at Mountain Valley Middle School to learn about and witness the phenomenon in October 2023. He then created a fun video to showcase the success of the event. We're looking forward seeing the grant in action at the next solar eclipse in April. Thank you Mr. Fey for being an advocate for CEF.
Partner of the Year Award
GVTC Foundation was the top donor of 2022-2023 giving CEF $10,500 through a community grant award and multiple event sponsorships. GVTC Foundation also supports CISD PTAs, booster clubs, and students and families in the district facing economical hardships. Receiving the award is Sonia Aguillon, Executive Director.
Outstanding Service Award
For 10 years Lizzie Trevino, Comal ISD State/Federal Programs Coordinator, has supported CEF behind the scenes by creating individualized budget codes and tracking purchases for our awarded grants. Since 2014 she has overseen the budgeting of $870,600 through 473 grants. Thanks to Lizzie, grant recipients are able to get their materials quickly and efficiently.
New CEF Video Premier
