Hello Norris Lions!

We have a busy week next week, and hope to see many of you out at Norris for some of our exciting events!

• Scholastic Book Fair will be in the Library! See the flyer below for the hours that the Book Fair will be open for shopping!
• Mane Event Performance at Millard South High School on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30
• Math & Literacy Night on Thursday, November 14th from 6:00-7:30! All Norris Lions are invited to wear PJs to school during the day, and then get cozy with cookies and hot chocolate at Math and Literacy night that evening!

It will be a fun week for all!

We have an important opportunity for all Millard families to provide input to our school community. Your opinion matters! Millard Public Schools seeks to have engaged stakeholders to meet its mission. Strategy 1.2 (2018) calls for a survey to determine engagement of all stakeholders (students, families, staff, and community). Please take 10 minutes to provide us with your candid input. Your answers will be anonymous. If you have students in multiple buildings, you will receive a different link from each school. The survey window will remain open through November 15th. Each week, all students at Norris will have a lesson practicing a social skill. These weekly lessons are called our ROAR Skills of the Week! ROAR skills are practiced in the classroom during a Morning Meeting. All staff members are on the lookout through the week for students to be practicing the weekly skill. Students who demonstrate the skill of the week may earn a ROAR ticket and be entered into a weekly grade level drawing.

Please take some time each week to review the ROAR Skill of the Week with your child!

All students are practicing the calming strategy of Bubble Breath during the month of November! Practice this at home when your child is in need of a tool to help them calm down!

Parents of Mane Event!

I am so excited for you to see your kiddos perform! Our concert this semester in the evening is at Millard South and is starting at 6:30 pm. Please have your child arrive between 6:00-6:25. Students should wear a monochrome or one color outfit that relates to the emotions from the movies Inside Out and Inside Out 2! More information is on the flyer attached! Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. This concert will be amazing!

Bring pennies to put in your class jar to make your total bigger.

Bring nickels, dimes, quarters and bills to put into another classes bucket.

These silver coins and bills will be subtracted from their penny total.

The class that collects the most pennies in their jar will earn a class party!

All funds raised will go to Project Wee Care.

Orders will be available for pick-up on November 25th between 3:00 and 6:00 PM.

Please drive to the East side of the building (by playground) for pick-up.

Looking for ways to support your school? Join us at the holiday event of the season – Jingle 2024!

Jingle is an evening filled with holiday experiences, cocktails, delicious food bites, and an amazing silent auction of 36 unique trees decorated by our schools.

The Millard Public Schools Foundation supports the district by providing funds to all 35 schools to support strategic initiatives, connects Millard graduating seniors with over $160,000 in scholarship funding and helps our own Millard families in need.

There will be no pre-registration for Thanksgiving this year. Families can visit during our regular pantry hours from November 12th to 26th to receive a standard pantry package, along with the option to select a holiday meat. They are not adding any extra dates or times.
