4-H and Casey's Pizza
Celebrate National Pizza Month with 4-H's favorite pizza from Casey's! From October 2 to November 5. Casey's is teaming up with 4-H to support and celebrate the vibrant communities we share. For every large pizza bought October 2 to November 5. Casey's will donate $1 to 4-H programs, up to $100,000! Both Casey's and 4-H are committed to enriching rural communities and positively impacting young lives. For more information, click here.

Nebraska 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Workshop - Trenton NE - November 2-3, 2024
Network with other shooting sports instructors and learn to develop your skills as an instructor and to use shooting sports to develop youth of strong character who possess effective life skills. Participants will gain certification in ONE of the following disciplines: rifle, pistol, archery, shotgun, and muzzleloading. For brochure, click here. To register, click here.

Nebraska State Poultry Association Show - November 16-17
This is the biggest American Poultry Association-sanctioned show in Nebraska. It is a great opportunity for youth and adults to share their birds, network with exhibitors from numerous states (last year we had two birds from Alaska), and buy/sell birds.
Junior exhibitors are double entered in the junior show and open show. There will be showmanship, breed identification, and defect identification contests.

4-H Project Idea Corner
Handmade Fleece Scarves for the Homeless
Gather your club, friends, or family together to create homemade fleece scarves and tie them around trees near a homeless area.
Supplies:
- Fleece Fabric
- Scissors
Activity Steps:
- Enlist the help from your club, friends or family.
- Purchase fleece fabric
- Cut fabric in strips of 10" x 48"
- You may cut small strips at the end of the longer pieces to make it look like fringe
- Locate areas that the homeless tend to be, you can also contact your local homeless shelter or soup kitchen to ask, too.
- In a group, go out and tie scarves around trees in those areas before the cold weather arrives.
Cooking with Kids: Cowboy Cookies
Involving children in preparing meals is a great way to teach them food preparation skills and the importance of healthy eating. This week, we are highlighting a delicious cookie recipe that allows for some creativity. You can add different types of dried fruit, nuts or flavors of baking chips!
4-H Military Partnership
Third Thursday Together
Third Thursdays Together are educational webinars for extension and service professionals who work with military-connected youth and families. Sessions are free, but registration is required. Please share the link with colleagues, friends, and all who could benefit from connecting with professionals supporting military-connected youth and programs.
Connecting with the Partnership
If you have not, please join our Facebook group and share what's happening in your programs, ask questions, and get input from others working with military-connected youth. You must answer certain questions to be accepted as a member, so include those responses when you ask to join.
