Second Semester Clubs
Clubs start today! Students signed up for clubs must be picked up promptly at 5:00 pm at the green benches on the south side of the school building. Please park and walk to the green benches to pick up your child from their club sponsor. All CampFire students who are participating in clubs will go to their CampFire classrooms after their clubs end.
Please reach out to kristi.reneau@cwckansascity.org with any questions.
Re-Enrollment for 2025-2026 is Open!
All current PreK through 7th graders can now re-enroll for the 2025-2026 school year through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal! This is done annually to confirm your family information and shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes, depending on how many students you have enrolled.
Spots for next year are only guaranteed until Friday, February 28th, at which time all remaining seats will be offered to new students in the lottery. Please make sure you complete re-enrollment in February! You can learn more by visiting the Re-Enrollment page of the CWCKC website.
Please reach out to Tisha Kidd if you have any issues logging into your Parent Portal.
Siblings of current students receive sibling priority when enrolling for the first time. If you have other children whom you would like to enroll as new students at CWC for the 2025-2026 school year, be sure to fill out the SchoolAppKC application before March 1st so that they have the best chance for a spot in the lottery. Reach out to Katy Lineberry with any questions about enrollment for new or current students.

TEAM TUESDAY - wear your favorite local, college, or professional team gear!
WAKE UP & WIN WEDNESDAY - wear your pajamas!

RED FRIDAY - wear your Chiefs gear!
Black History Month
This week all of our classes at the Broadway building, kindergarten through 8th grade, will be learning about aspects of Black history, including learning about Black scientists, activists, inventors, musicians, and other influential leaders that have impacted our country, as well as HBCUs and important moments in American history. Our kindergarten through 5th grade students and families will be celebrating Black History Month together at our First Friday event this Friday, too!
Some of our classes have already been celebrating Black history, including our kindergarten and first grade classes. You can see some of the evidence of their learning below! Please visit our Facebook, Instagram, and BlueSky accounts to see more of what we're up to this month!
Hearing Screenings
The Rockhurst University Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) Program will be providing hearing screenings at the Citizens of the World Broadway building on February 5th and 12th. A hearing screening is a brief assessment of your child’s ability to hear pure-tone sounds or soft sounds at different frequencies. Screenings will be performed by CSD graduate students under the direct supervision of a licensed, certified speech-language pathologist. CWC will be informed of the screening results and recommendations. Families of students who are not able to hear all the screening sounds will receive a letter with results and recommended next steps.
Opt out forms went home with students last week. You only need to sign and return an opt out form if you DO NOT want your child to be screened. If you have questions, please contact Johanna Chambers, Director of Student Support, at johanna.chambers@cwckansascity.org or 816-537-1634.
