Bobcat Broadcast
Amerman Elementary, May 3, 2024
A MESSAGE FROM MRS. CAUDILL
It's May. I know you know this, but I feel it's important to state the obvious. Where did the school year go? It was 8 months ago our kindergarteners were walking into school for the first time, our 5th graders for the last 1st day at Amerman. All of our students have learned and grown so much this school year. However, as we know the year is not over. We still have over a month of learning (and fun).
As the school year winds down, this is the time of year that student behavior tends to wind up. This is a completely normal and we are ready for it by reinforcing routines and procedures. We would love your help and support as well. Please remind your Bobcat of the pledge they take every morning:
Please have conversations with them about what this pledge means and why we say it. Also, that this pledge is just as important when they have a guest teacher. We want the end of year to be spectacular with all the fun activities we have planned. We appreciate your help and support!
Stay well,
Devon Caudill

DON'T FORGET TO PLEASE TAKE OUR LEADER IN ME SURVEY!
As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School we are always working on continuous improvement. Each year we ask parents to take a short survey. Our staff are asked to take the survey as well as our 4th and 5th grade students. These surveys are used to annually collect, analyze, and report student, staff, and school-level outcomes related to the focus on improving leadership, culture, and academics. They help us identify our strengths and weaknesses, develop improvement plans, and monitor progress. Please complete the survey below. All of your responses are completely anonymous. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

HABIT 8: FIND YOUR VOICE
We will be working on Habit 8 Find Your Voice
What this means: Find your voice means finding something that you are good at and like doing. You are proud, but do not boast. Instead, you use your expertise to help and inspire others.
Physical: Learn your true nature and gifts, then use them to envision what you can achieve.
Social/Emotional: We all have a purpose and special talents.
Mental: Transcend the negative culture of ego, scarcity, comparison, and competitiveness.
Spiritual: Be a catalyst to the success of something bigger than ourselves.
What I can do:
- Try something new like painting, horseback riding, or baseball. Then ask yourself: Did I enjoy myself? Was it easy or hard? Do I want to learn more?
- Go to the library or search the internet to find reading material on new things. What kinds of things spark your interest? What do you want to continue learning about?
- Plan some time to help someone in need. How did the experience make you feel?
