Beautiful Oops at Kerby
In the townhalls during the 2nd week of school, Katy Vernier read "Beautiful Oops" by Barney Saltzberg. to all Kerby Cougars. The book highlights how mistakes can spark creativity and learning, encouraging students to see errors as chances for exploration. Each student was given an "oops" so they had an opportunity to create something beautiful and creative. The bulletin board pictured blow shows their community "oops" all turned into something wonderful.

This week our leaders introduced their groups to strategies for success in middle school and outside of school as well. They also came together to develop words of wisdom and the importance of being a great Trojan.
Kerby goes to the Movies
Last year, First Grade Teacher Mackenzie Meckl read the book The Wild Robot to her class. It is about a robot who finds herself deserted on an island and you follow her as she learns to gain the trust of the animals in the forest on the island.
The movie came out on September 27th. Ms. Meckl promised the kids that she would pick a day to go to the movie and that if they were available, they could go to the same showtime and would be able to see the movie together! On 9/29, they all met up for a viewing!
Hispanic Heritage Month at Richard
Mrs. Finney, Richard 3rd grade teacher, has led Richard staff and students in exploring Central and South America while celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. Additionally, cell phones are OFF AND OUT OF SIGHT all day for middle school, and during class time for high school students. If students need to be reached during the school day, please continue to contact the main office.
