Safety Notice: Proper Crosswalk Use at Dismissal Time
Dear Allen High School Parents and Students,
At dismissal time, our school campus becomes a hub of activity as students make their way home. It has come to our attention that multiple students are crossing Exchange Drive near Starbucks, instead of using the designated crosswalks at either Rivercrest Drive or Greenville Avenue. Ensuring the safety of our students is a top priority, and we must address this matter to prevent potential accidents and promote safe pedestrian behavior.
In light of this concern, the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee has requested our assistance in addressing the issue. To enhance safety and reduce the risk of accidents, we kindly request your support in reinforcing the importance of using the designated crosswalks at Rivercrest Drive and Greenville Avenue when crossing Exchange Drive.
Here's how you can help:
- Parents: Please take a moment to discuss the importance of crosswalk safety with your children. Encourage them to use the crosswalks at Rivercrest Drive or Greenville Avenue when crossing Exchange Drive.
Students: Your safety is of utmost importance to us. When leaving school and crossing Exchange Drive, always use one of the two designated crosswalks – either at Rivercrest Drive or Greenville Avenue. By following this simple rule, you are contributing to a safer and more secure school environment.
Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated, as it ensures the safety and well-being of our students and the community as a whole. By reinforcing safe pedestrian practices, we can create a secure environment for everyone.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and responsible school community. If you have any questions or concerns related to this matter, please feel free to reach out to your House Office.
