A Letter From The Principal
Dear Roadrunner Families,
We’re so proud of our students for their hard work and focus during the Reading STAAR assessment! They truly showed what they know, and we couldn’t be more excited about their efforts.
We have two more STAAR assessments coming up, and we’re looking forward to seeing our students continue to shine. Thank you for your continued support, especially in helping your child arrive on time and ready to do their best each day. Your partnership means the world to us!
Warm Regards,

Preparing For State Assessments
STAAR State Assessments have begun for grades 3-5! This is an opportunity for your student to truly show what they know. They cannot do it alone and will need your help to ensure their success. Here are a few things that will help your students as they prepare for this important assessment for the school year:
Create a Study Routine–Set aside 15–30 minutes a few times a week for your child to review class material or practice with STAAR-style questions. Keep it stress-free and consistent!
-
Regular attendance – Being present each day ensures they receive the instruction they need.
Talk With The Teacher–Stay connected! Ask about your child’s progress and how you can support learning at home. Teachers can offer great tips and resources.
Prioritize Sleep, Nutrition, and Encouragement–Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and hears lots of positive words before the test. A confident mind starts with a healthy body and heart!
Your involvement truly makes a difference. Thank you for being a valued partner in your child’s success! 💙📚
Reading, Science, Math STAAR Assessments
We are approaching the time of year when our 3rd through 5th grade students will participate in the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) assessments. These tests are an opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have gained throughout the year.
📅 STAAR Testing Dates:
- 5th Grade Science: April 22nd
-
3rd – 5th Grade Math: April 29th
✅ How to Support Your Child:
-
Ensure Rest and Nutrition: Help your child get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast on testing days.
-
Arrive on Time: Punctuality is important, as late arrivals may not be allowed to test.
-
Encourage a Positive Mindset: Remind your child that they have worked hard and are prepared to do their best.
📚 Important Reminders:
-
The campus will be closed to visitors during testing hours to maintain a quiet and secure environment.
-
Please avoid scheduling appointments on testing days.
We appreciate your partnership in ensuring your child feels confident and ready for the STAAR assessments. If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the front office.

Teacher Appreciation BOOST THE BREAKROOM!
I hope this email finds you well. As you know, Teacher Appreciation Week is just around the corner, from May 5th - May 9th, and we're aiming to make it extra special for our amazing educators at Red Rock Elementary. Please donate if you can; this is a fun and very easy way to show your appreciation!
To streamline our efforts and ensure every teacher feels valued, we've set up an Amazon registry where community members can contribute to gifts for our dedicated staff. Your generous contributions will go a long way in showing our teachers how much we appreciate all they do for our students.
You can access the registry here https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/AXS030VOHL60. Any contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference and help us create a memorable experience for our teachers.
Thank you for your continued support in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our educators. Together, we can make this Teacher Appreciation Week one to remember!
Upcoming PTA Events
RRE and PTA are excited to share some upcoming events and opportunities for involvement in our school community! We would love for you to be a part of our team as we continue to make a positive impact on our students and school.
Whether you have a little time or a lot, every bit of support helps us create meaningful experiences for our students. Stay tuned for event details, and please consider volunteering or joining us in any way you can!
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event!
Daily Attendance Matters
We want to remind everyone how important daily attendance is for your child’s learning and success. While we understand it can be easy to keep students home when a sibling is sick, we kindly ask that all healthy students still come to school.
Every day matters, and being present helps students stay on track, build strong routines, and grow academically and socially.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students thrive!
📚 Did you know?
Missing just 2 days a month means a student misses over 18 days in a school year—that’s nearly a whole month of learning!
Every day counts, and your child’s presence at school makes a big difference!
Front Office Check In
Must Have to Enter the Building:
1. Valid Identification: State Driver's License, State Issued ID, Passport, Active Military ID, International Issued ID
2. Show ID to front office before entering the building by pressing the white rectangle by the front doors; they will ask you to show your ID before entering the building
3. All visitors must be ran through the Raptor system (IDs listed are the only ones accepted)
Lunch Visitor Schedule
We love welcoming families to join their students for lunch! Please remember to check the lunch visitor schedule before coming to ensure you’re visiting on the designated day.
For the safety of all students, be prepared with an accepted form of identification when you arrive. This helps us maintain a secure campus environment.
