Counselor's Corner
Schedules are set for the year! All students should have a complete schedule that they will follow for the rest of this semester. Students were given the opportunity to fill out a schedule change request form the first 3 days of school. During finals week in December, students will be given another chance to submit a change request form for the second semester.
There are many, many factors that go into making a student’s schedule including class sizes, how often a certain class is offered, and which “specialty” classes a student has in their schedule (STUCO, Athletics, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Etc). It is perfectly normal for your child to have a class they did not request or not have a “perfect” schedule. Learning to pivot this way is great practice for high school and college years.
Counselors will begin scheduling ALP meetings, or Advanced Learning Plan meetings, during the end of August for students who did not pass the STAAR test. The purpose of these meetings is to review a student’s STAAR scores and discuss what steps the school will take to help them bridge the gap. Mrs. Alferez will conduct ALP meetings for 7th grade and Mrs. Vasquez will conduct ALP meetings for 8th grade.

Jobe Education Hydration Station!
Parents! Let's recreate the "Watertok Bar" that recently went viral and make an education hydration station for our teachers with different flavored water packets and flavorings. Teachers will get a reusable cup to keep from PTA. Click the SignUp Genius to see what items are needed.
Please deliver your donation items to the school's front desk by Friday, September 13.
