Principal's Message
Capturing student voice and creating and supporting student leadership opportunities is something we are continually looking to do. So, when three sixth grade students (Grace Seed, Willa Murphy, and Evie Pitney) scheduled a meeting with me at the beginning of November for permission to organize and facilitate a food drive, it was an easy decision to support their initiative.
They collaborated with other students and created a plan to make it happen. The two weeks before Thanksgiving break, our Student Council hosted a canned food drive to support the Worthington Food Bank. In total, we collected 1,391 items! This project was completely student-driven. Students had the idea, students communicated to the student body, and students organized the collection.
I am also proud to report that our "pep rally assembly" was a huge success. This took place the Tuesday before Thanksgiving break and was facilitated by our students. Reese McEnery, Jaxon McElroy, and Eli Clark served as emcees of the event and did a great job leading our student body.

Important UPDATES
7th grade Student Clubs
- We are excited to share that our 7th grade teachers are piloting Student Clubs during the school day. You may recall from previous newsletter communication that our sixth grade teachers started this with students in the fall. Students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of clubs, each led by one of our teachers. Some of the options for the seventh grade students are: Computer Games, Crochet, Cooking, Planner, Basketball, Walking, Chess, and Board Games. Students and teachers will meet once a week during our assist time, providing a great opportunity for relationship building and creative engagement.
Student Drop-Off
- Please do not drop off your student at the intersection of Reiber and Lambourne. This causes a back up for other vehicles and is not safe for our students. Please pull into our parking lot in front of the school and drop off there. The line moves very quickly.
Cross Country Recognition
- The Worthington City Council recognized our State Championship Boys and Girls Cross Country teams on December 2nd. We are grateful to our City Council for inviting the athletes and coaches to the meeting and providing recognition. It was an honor.
