SHARK SHOUTOUTS
- Thank you to the amazing junior volunteers who helped with setting up, handing out programs, and greeting guests at both Convocation and Graduation. Emily Silvester, Lucy Bates, Hillevi Segerson (both events!), Jason Elhilow (both events!), Emily Layton, Finn Hyora, Juliana Ritchie, and Kate Small.
- Super shark shout out to Vietnam veteran, First Lt. Neil Dolan, recipient of two Bronze Stars, who was kind enough to visit my A block American Literature class to discuss his experiences in the war. Students shared several questions with him a few days before, and we asked several more during and at the end of his talk. Mr. Dolan showed us a few of his medals, his dog tags, a few pieces of actual shrapnel, and other items that he saved. It was also nice to have John Dickson and five of his students join us, as well as three of my G block students!! Very powerful and poignant event and a wonderful addition to our study of THE THINGS THEY CARRIED. Photo credit to John Dickson. -Mrs. Lisa Forte-Doyle

Monomoy Regional High School students have completed their 2024 Advanced Placement Exams. This year we also showed an increase in the accessibility to AP courses and exams, for students of color, students who classify as English Learners, as well as for students diagnosed with learning disabilities. In addition, we had more AP opportunities for coursework and exams for our students in grades nine and ten.

- English Literature
- Calculus A/B
- Physics
- Environmental Sci
- United States History
- Statistics

The statistics in the school summary (pictured) are record-breaking for our school and the AP Community!
Total Number of Students: 207
Total Number of Exams Administered: 367
Now we await our student scores and our school progress report. I will share those accomplishments as well in the near future.
I would like to send out a Shark sized thank you to our dedicated AP teachers, our 9 exam proctors, especially lead proctor Roxanne Kasehagen. And of course, thanks go to Mrs. Casey for the ongoing support throughout the year and to Mrs. Hooper for her assistance with exam coordination.
Sincerely,

Scholar Athletes of the Month: May 2024
Gareth Vos: Baseball
Gareth has been a welcome addition to our program this year. He has been an impact player for us as the starting right fielder and giving us solid innings on the mound. His competitiveness has rubbed off on a lot of our players. Gareth leads more by actions than words and has been one of the big reasons why we have had a successful season. In the classroom Gareth holds a 4.2 GPA. - Coach Steve Porter
Isabella Bellefeuille: Softball
Isabella is an excellent student athlete. She pushes herself in the classroom with a 4.4 GPA and has an unbelievable work ethic. On the softball field, she puts 100% effort in every practice and game. She is a kind hearted young lady who will be extremely successful in her future because of her constant dedication to hard work. She is well deserving of this award and we are very fortunate to have her as a Shark. :) - Coach Stacy Yarnall
