Support Our Students and Teachers
Our Idaho Gives/Annual Appeal donations have climbed to over $13,000 but our May 15 deadline is fast approaching and we need to reach our $20,000 goal. We're asking for your support for our students and teachers. Use the QR code here or go to https://palouseprairieschool.org/donate/. Your donations help to provide opportunities like the weeklong adventure trips for 5th through 8th grades, supplies and travel for expedition fieldwork, continuing art and music classes, and professional development for our teachers. As a public charter school, PPCS is unable to raise funds through bonds and levees. Despite the funding discrepancy, our students' Science ISAT scores rank 20 points above the MSD average! That's what makes PPCS and EL Education worthy of your support. Thanks for being CREW!
May 19 and May 26 - No School
May 19 is a professional development day. There will be no school. There are several more spots left in our Art Camp that day. Your spot may be reserved upon payment. May 26 is Memorial Day.
Lost and Found
The lost and found bins are over flowing again!
With the weather warming up, kids are shedding their winter gear and much of it ends up in lost and found. Please stop by and have a look. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of the school year.
Landscape Committee Needs Your Help
Love our school prairie and plantings? We need your help!
PPCS is a charter school that doesn’t receive the same level of funding as other public schools, so our beautiful landscape is cared for almost entirely by volunteers — and we’re looking for more folks to join in!
We’re especially seeking:
- Helpers to coordinate WSU/UI volunteer groups next fall (you pick the time!)
- Families to adopt a section of the landscape or stop by occasionally to do what’s most needed
- A summer crew to help with watering and weeding
- Weeding Wednesdays: Join us anytime between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m.
No special knowledge needed — just willingness to help and be part of this awesome space. Contact Malinda at (208) 596-8167 or mritts@palouseprairieschool.org. And follow “Friends of PPCS Landscape Committee” on Facebook!
