A few reminders so you can stay in the know:
~ THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our book fair a huge success! It doesn't happen without the help of many people so thank you.
~ Winter is nearly upon us, even though it doesn't feel like it! Please sign up for District News (you can get a text message sent to you). Should we have to close school early, or not have school due to the weather, you'll get that information in a timely manner. Subscribe to receive emails using this link. Once you open that link, scroll down and click on the “News” and then click the "Bell symbol".
~ Mitigation Strategies Update: Yesterday we added back a few things that were changed in the weeks prior to our Thanksgiving break. Grade levels can now mix again outside on the playground, and we have added a few students back into the cafeteria, sitting 3-4 students at each table. We will continue to monitor cases and gradually make changes to our mitigation layers. Kids and staff have been unbelievably flexible and adaptable as we move through these changes.
~ From the School Nurse: As we continue to experience COVID cases, we do our very best to communicate school exposures in a timely manner. That being said, sometimes there is a delay in notification or contact tracing, especially on weekends or over scheduled breaks. However, if you would like to email positive results to me, Heather Hedin, Licensed School Nurse at hhedin1@isd77.org , I do periodically check my emails on my time off. If I am notified of a case and have the needed information, I will do my best to do the contact tracing and notification as soon as possible. That being said, I am not always available on the weekends or may not have all the required information needed for contact tracing. So please continue to be patient as we do our best to work through these situations. As always, if your child is sick, or showing any COVID-like symptoms, please keep them home and have them evaluated/tested.
~ Please, please, please do not send your child to school if they are sick or are exhibiting any symptoms of illness. I cannot state this strongly enough, and I am begging for your help with this.
Happy December!
