A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
This week our school community came together for our annual Veterans Day Assembly. This tradition allows us to express our heartfelt appreciation for the men and women who bravely served in our nation's armed forces. We were privileged to have several honored guests among us, whose presence made the occasion even more special.
A heartfelt "thank you" goes our to everyone who played a role in making this event a success including students and staff. Thank you to Mrs. Tracey Miller for leading the planning and event. Most importantly, we extend our deepest gratitude to our veterans and their families for their unwavering service and sacrifice.

Scholastic Book Fair Comes to Omro
This week, the Scholastic Book Fair was held district wide among our Omro schools. Students were able to come down with their classes, as well as before and after school to visit the book fair and were able to shop for books and other items that interested them. Research shows that reading regularly in early childhood helps build important skills like language, vocabulary, comprehension, and critical thinking. It also fosters creativity, broadens imagination, and exposes children to different ideas, cultures, and experiences, setting the stage for academic success and lifelong literacy.
In addition to the learning benefits books provide, this book fair also helps support our libraries with funds raised to help purchase new books, and provide funds for activities such as Battle of the Books. Thank you all who helped strengthen our library programs this year!
Food, Family and Society Students Create Original Food Treats!
Students in Mrs. Morse's Food, Family and Society class created NEW food norms for our society-- creating a new food treat and/or tradition that does not already exist. Students created food items such Gummy Bear Popsicles, 4th of July Spicy Pickle Chips, and enjoying Breakfast on a Stick.
Omro Honors Veterans
The 2024 Veterans Day Assembly at the School District of Omro's PAC for local veterans, middle school and high school students and staff was meaningful.
High school seniors, Bailey and Malia lead the assembly by introducing each speaker and performer.
Middle school students, Mallory and Kendall created and presented their very own poems. Max, a sophomore, won the high school poetry contest by creating his own powerful poem and reciting it from memory at the assembly.
The choir and band had outstanding performances and three, sixth-grade students won the poster contest. Natalie, Zoey, and Amelia created beautiful posters that were displayed on the podium. Thank you, Mrs. Neubauer for guiding the 6th graders with their posters. Mrs. Clinch's 7th graders signed The Pledge as everyone recited The Pledge of Allegiance. Mrs. Sabel and the middle school peer leaders greeted the veterans and handed out the thank you cards during the ceremony.
A shout out also goes out to Mrs. Becker and Mrs. Hughes and their classes for making homemade thank you cards to give to each of the veterans who attended the ceremony.
Dave Lemieux from our Local 234 American Legion, presented winners with coins from the Legion. He also presented our history teacher, Eli Schumacher, with the Teacher of the Year award.
Thank you to all administration, administrative assistants, custodians and maintenance workers and all other staff for their help and support to make the event a success!
Lastly, but most importantly, thank you to all of the veterans for their service!
Boys and Girls Varsity Bowling Hold First Bowling Match
In our match last night, both the Boys Varsity and Girls Varsity won their matches. The boys match was the tightest and most exciting! After getting off to a fast start winning the first 2 games with an average of 212 over those games, Brillion battled back and the teams went back and forth tying 4-4 going into the final game, The boys were leading by 10 pins going into the 10th frame and needed a spare in the 10th to clinch the victory. Daniel picked up the 10 pin securing the victory for the boys, winning the match 5-4 with an average for the 9 games of 172.
The girls team were bowling unopposed since Brillion does not have a girls team and therefore they needed to beat their average which they did pretty easily, winning 6-3 and averaging 111 over the 9 games.
Next match is against Appleton North on Tuesday 11/19 at 4pm at Fox Lanes.
