High School Math

It was great seeing everyone during our January Early Release Day! All information can be found in the folder of your Pathway. Don't forget to access the folder before our session for important documents and the presentation.

We hope you enjoyed the time to chat about our current Try and Apply phase. During our February ERD, you will have an opportunity to discuss your experience and collaborate before our final vote in mid-February. Before our time together, we recommend that you try at least one lesson from each of the publishers and come prepared to share the following:

• Does the lesson meet the expectation of the benchmark and MTR from the B1G-M?
• What was your student's perspective of the lessons/ resources? ​
• What strategies (MLRs) are highlighted that you feel would best support your students? ​
• Is there sufficient practice and scaffolds to support your students with this benchmark? ​
• What tiered supports are available? ​
• Is there sufficient guidance to assist you when planning for student learning?

As we start to prepare for 2022-2023, we would love to have you join our curriculum team. The team will help with the development of the Secondary Learning Network and the student-facing courses. Upcoming Synchronous Course

During 2nd semester, we will be offering 6 hours of Professional Learning to each teacher. You will receive 6 hours of stipend pay and 8 hours of professional development points. The Mathematical Thinking and Reasoning Standards (MTRs) were designed to help deepen the student's understanding of mathematics. Please select this link to learn about the seven MTR's.

Across the district, we are seeing the most growth from students doing the diagnostic periodically. We recommend it weekly but could be done every other week. It only takes 10 minutes and encourages students because it shows their growth. Here is a 10 minute video on how it works through the student's dashboard.
