WINN Time
We will continute to implement WINN Time—What I Need Now, an important initiative across our Distrcit. WINN Time is a dedicated 40-minute block each day where students across the grade level receive targeted instruction based on their current needs. The goal is to provide every child with the support, enrichment, or challenge they need to succeed.
How does it work? Throughout the trimester, our teachers collect data on each student’s progress. This data helps us to form flexible groups that address specific learning goals, whether a student needs reinforcement in a particular area or opportunities to extend their learning. WINN Time allows us to meet students where they are and help them reach their full potential.
In order to ensure that our WINN groups are tailored to meet the needs of all students, teachers will be given a half-day this week to collaborate with their grade-level teams and analyze the data we’ve gathered so far. This collaboration time is essential in setting up our initial groups for WINN Time.
We believe this focused, data-driven approach will greatly benefit our students and provide them with the personalized instruction they need to thrive. We look forward to seeing the positive outcomes from WINN Time.
Picture Day
This is a friendly reminder that Wednesday, September 4th is Picture Day at our school! Information regarding Picture Day was sent home with your child last week.
To make the process easier, pre-orders can be placed online by visiting Dorian Studio's website. We encourage you to take advantage of this option for a smooth and convenient experience.
Heat Index
Our District has created an Extreme Heat Protocols webpage (www.livermoreschools.org/exteremeheat) as a resource to staff and parents. It provides general school site protocols which is the same information that has been shared with parents via email the past couple of years.
The protocols align with the CDC's Heat Risk Dashboard and CDPH's Heat Risk Grid which are also included. CIF heat policies are also linked.
Recess, lunch, and P.E. will be adjusted according to the guidelines.
"Grand"persons Day
We are thrilled to announce our upcoming "Grand"persons Day event, proudly hosted by our wonderful PTA. This special day celebrates the invaluable role grandparents and grandparent figures play in the lives of our students.
On September 6th, we will be welcoming grandparents and surrogate grandparents to join us for a day filled with joy, learning, and community. We understand that not all students may have their grandparents nearby or available, so we have arranged for plenty of surrogate grandparents to be on hand. These kind-hearted volunteers are excited to step in and share this special day with any student who might need a grandparent figure by their side.
This event is an opportunity for our students to share their school experiences and connect across generations. We hope this day will create lasting memories for our students and their families.
Thank you to our PTA for their hard work in organizing this event, and to all our volunteers who will make this day possible.
