Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-
I don’t know about you, but I was so bummed to see that our days of actual “spring-like” weather disappeared again today. The warmth and sunshine teased us and I was hopeful it would continue. I know our spring athletes would appreciate it as well! The month of March has flown by and kept us very busy. We will conclude our Verde Loco month of fun with the NEON themed dance tonight, 7-10pm, ALL Ridgeline students are welcome and the price of admission is two food items to go toward our food drive. And next week the infamous Battle of the Green final class competition assembly! Assembly runs 9:30-10:30 and will be streamed on our YouTube channel (link below), and available for viewing afterward.
Thank you to parents, students, and colleagues who nominated so many deserving staff or volunteers for the Meritorious Service Award. There were 45 nominations, which is an incredible amount! Quality people create an amazing school culture. These nominees embody our Ridgeline High School mission and conduct their work daily with that as a foundation. A complete list of nominees is below in the Flyer.
An important historical moment for seniors is scheduled. All seniors are invited and encouraged to be on campus this coming Wednesday, March 29. Following the Battle of the Green Assembly (approximately 10:30), all seniors will meet in the stadium on the field. The goal of the shot is to create a full-page yearbook spread. I did a practice run with eight seniors pictured with me here!
Please check out the Flyer to stay informed of coming events as well as to help celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our students and staff! Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

Speech & Debate
Trips to Pike Street Market, the Museum of Glass and the University of Puget Sound marked the conclusion of the Speech and Debate season for seniors Isabella Kelp and Cambrea Lombardo.
Both competed in the Congressional Debate category at the state debate tournament on March 16-17 and finished in the top third among 55 participants. Lombardo, the team captain, also competed in Original Oratory at the state speech tournament on March 10.
The pair are also the first to earn our varsity letter in Speech and Debate.
More than 200 students from 50 schools competed in the annual WIAA Washington State Speech and Debate Championships held at the Universtiy of Puget Sound in Tacoma. The team traveled with University and Central Valley High Schools and made trips to Pike Street Market and the glass musuem before starting the tournaments.
Civics Bowl tournament on KSPS
Ridgeline had an awesome first showing at the second Civics Bowl competition. Though we lost in our first match to last year’s champion, Lewis & Clark, I am extremely proud of our four participants and alternate for putting themselves out there. It takes guts to put your civics knowledge to the test, especially in a television game show format. Way to go Elise, Jacob, Prasidha, Parker, and Hannah! We wish all the area teams good luck as they continue in competition!
