Celebrating our State Qualifiers

Dear Avon Lake City Schools Community,

Thank you to our citizens who took time to participate in yesterday’s Coffee Talk, and who attended with support, questions, and district newsletters in-hand for reference. We learned from our community survey that our school district does have the support of the City of Avon Lake, and hosting events such as these coffee talks demonstrates your interest, and provides an opportunity to share more information. The next Coffee Talk is scheduled for Thursday, April 3rd at The Kitchen on Walker Road, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Come out and join us!

Several athletics programs will be represented this coming weekend in statewide competition and we congratulate the student-athletes, coaches, and families on their successes. All the best to our 6 indoor track-and-field state qualifiers in your competition this weekend. Congratulations to the 4 Boys and Girls Wrestlers who qualified for the state competition and our 2 alternates. Finally, please join me in cheering our Shoregals Varsity Girls Basketball Team for advancing to the OHSAA State Semi-Finals at Canton Memorial Field House. The game will take place on Sunday, March 9th at 3 p.m. You can still purchase tickets here!

Stay safe and warm this weekend. Don’t forget, no school on Monday, March 10th! See everyone next Tuesday!
