Barclay Bulletin

I hope you're having a wonderful summer. I'm certainly not wishing the remaining days of summer away, but I do want to send some building information your way as you prepare for the upcoming school year.

Placement letters will be mailed on August 16, 2024. These letters highlight the upcoming teacher and room number for each child in Barclay this year. If you submitted a parent input form, I did try my best to honor wishes, but know that my priority is finding a good teacher fit for each student. If there is a good match between teaching and learning styles then we'll be in for a wonderful year. Enclosed in the primary residence placement envelopes are the pick-up pals for your student. The pick-up pals are used when picking a student up from school from the main office, nurse's office, or at the end of the day. Adults picking up from school simply show the pick-up pal to school personnel to ensure that you are cleared to take the child from school. This makes it easier for a parent to have a relative or neighbor pick up from school. You can certainly show other forms of identification if you don't have the pick-up pal as long as the person is a legal guardian or has been approved on the student release forms. If a pick-up pal is misplaced, notify the office and new cards will be issued. It preferred that we limit the number of pick-up pals for each family to two. If you have family circumstances where you need to request an additional card please contact the main office via email at: barclay.elementary@bcs1.org and we will consider that request.

Meet and Greet will be held Thursday, August 29, 2024

Families with the last names beginning M-Z: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Families with the last names beginning A-L: 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Here are some things to consider for Meet and Greet:

• The building will not be open between 1:00-2:00 because of staff meetings. We cannot have families visiting outside of the times listed above.
• Please note the times above. All elementary buildings are open at the same times to create a smooth flow of traffic on campus.
• If you cannot make your scheduled session, please notify the office and we will do our best to accommodate a different session.
• Doors will open at 12:00 and 2:00. We will open multiple building doors, so look at the attached Meet and Greet Entrances document to see the best door to enter through.

Our typical form of communication will shift to Parent Square at the end of the summer. Please be on the lookout for communications from the district when we are ready to make that transition. We think you'll find it easy to navigate and communicate through this one app.
