MN Teacher Convention break (no school) for students on Thursday and Friday next week. What is Teacher Convention? In Minnesota students are off school the third Thursday and Friday in October for Teacher Convention dates and the weekend. MEA stands for Minnesota Education Association conferences. Teachers will have the opportunity to attend the largest professional development conference in Minnesota.
Bike and Motorist Safety
With the onset of darker mornings, prioritizing safety for both students and drivers is crucial. If your student bikes to school, ensure they are equipped with a reliable white headlight and red rear light on their bicycle to enhance visibility. The most basic requirement of Minnesota law is to fit the bike with a white front light and a red rear light which must be clean and working properly, when cycling between sunset and sunrise. It's important for bikers to stop at intersections and avoid darting into traffic, as drivers may struggle to see them without proper lighting. Encourage them to always cross streets at designated crosswalks, especially those with lighted flashers, to maximize their safety. As a community, we must work together to promote awareness and caution, ensuring a safe journey for everyone during these darker hours.
National Letter of Intent - Athletes
A National Letter of Intent is a binding commitment by an athlete to play collegiate athletics for a particular college or university in exchange for a scholarship. (This means your senior is signing a commitment to a Division I or Division II school to play a sport and receiving athletic financial aid for playing the sport. This would also mean the college or university has been in contact with you and your senior about the signing the paperwork. )
This is not the signing date for D-III or JUCO or NAIA Schools
November 13, 2024 is the first of three signing time periods for prospective senior student-athletes, who have played at Eagan, to sign their National Letters of Intent.
We will celebrate our D-1 and D-11 athletes at this signing.
If you have a senior (12th Grade) student who will be signing to play college athletics during this time period please contact Eagan’s Athletic Director, Jason Elias.
Email – Jason.elias@district196.org or his assistant, Sherri.anderson@district196.org the following.

If you have new socks to donate, please bring them to the World Language conference section. You'll find a collection box conveniently located at Sonja Dewing's conference table on the main level. Your donations will make a significant difference to those who need them most, and every pair counts. Let's come together as a community to provide warmth and comfort to those who need it. Thank you for your generosity and support!

Senior pictures and baby ads are both due to the yearbook on November 1. See our website for senior picture guidelines, instructions on how to submit, and submission verification. https://ehs.district196.org/activities/publications
The yearbook staff would like to identify students by their preferred name. Next to everyone’s school or senior photo, the student’s name as it appears in Campus will be printed. However, in every other place in the yearbook, a preferred name can be used. If students have a nick name in Campus, the yearbook staff will use that name. If students have a preferred name that is not in Campus, please use the Google Form to let the yearbook staff know what name we should use. If you would prefer the yearbook not use the nick name in Campus, please also fill out this form.
