Bobcat Families,

What a great week our Bobcats have had celebrating our amazing staff!!! Thank you to our wonderful PTA for all of the drinks, treats and lunch this week.

MAP testing will wrap up next week for the older grade levels. MAP testing results are a great indicator of students’ growth and readiness for their next year’s learning. We want our students to be focused on meeting their goals and demonstrating their academic capabilities and success! Please look in your student’s newsletter for the grade level information.

We will also be welcoming back our graduating Seniors to our Senior Reunion on May 15th at 4:30 in the Beverly library. We will be awarding our PTA/Liz Kirby Scholarship and sharing our Bobcat memories! Additionally, we are starting a Senior Walk for our graduating seniors on Monday, May 19th at 7:45 a.m. Seniors can wear their cap & gown and walk down the halls of Beverly as our Bobcats cheer them on to graduation!

Beverly FIELD DAY is scheduled for Friday, May 16th, and we need your help! We would love to have as many volunteers as we can to help the activities run smoothly. We will have two sessions of Field Day - AM is for K-2nd and PM is for 3-5th grades.

So many fun activities are on the horizon for our students and families!

Parent volunteers are needed to help with Field Day. (If it's canceled due to weather, our make-up date is Monday, May 19.) Visitors and spectators will not be allowed into the Field Day area. Only volunteers with background checks who have signed up will be allowed.

1st grade - Red

FIELD DAY CHECKLIST

· Grade level colored T-shirt or similar color

· May want to wear a bathing suit under clothing - we will be getting wet!

· Change of clothes and shoes

· Athletic/Tennis shoes only (NO Flip-Flops/Sandals/Crocs)

· Sunscreen - Apply before school, as staff will not apply sunscreen on students.

· Water bottle - each child is responsible for their own water bottle

· Plastic bag for wet clothes

Keep up the good work Wellness Warriors. Our Calendar Challenge is still on-going. Reminder: April's calendar will be due by the end of the first full week in May. The May calendar is attached below. STAY ACTIVE!

Make sure to mark your calendars for Field Day, Friday, May 16. Beverly PTA is handling sign-ups for parent volunteers.

If you are dropping off lunch, please label it with your child's name and grade level. Kindergarten lunches must be delivered by 10:45 a.m. All other grade level lunches must be here by 11 a.m., regardless of your child's lunch time!

If you are writing a check for the cafeteria, fill it out completely, or it will be returned home with your student. Checks can be made out to FANS or Food and Nutritional Services. Below are the lunch times for each grade level.

Kindergarten - 11:00 - 11:30

1st - 11:15-11:45

2nd - 11:45-12:15

3rd - 12:30-1:00

4th - 12:15-12:45

5th - 12:00-12:30

Parents/Guardians can add absence requests for students to indicate a day or range of days that they will not be in school. You will add absence requests via Skyward Family Access. If your child will be out sick for the day or will be gone due to a family vacation, you can enter an absence request to indicate these details. Here is a Step-by-Step Guide.

Remember, school starts at 7:40 a.m. We close the doors promptly at 7:40 a.m. Please arrive on time so your child is not counted tardy. The gym doors open as early as 7 a.m. where they are supervised until we release them to the classroom at 7:30 a.m. Your child also may purchase breakfast in the cafeteria beginning at 7:15 a.m.

Early pick-up is before 2:30 p.m. Those who arrive after that time will have to wait until dismissal at 3 p.m. If you are picking up early, please notifiy the teacher so they can have your student prepared. You must come into the office with your identification to sign out your student. Thank you for your cooperation.

We love recognizing our Bobcats! Student birthdays will be announced on the morning school announcements. In their classrooms, students will be recognized by their teacher and receive a pencil/sticker from one of the principals. Edible treats are not permitted to be brought to school.

At Beverly, we love our volunteers! Every person who wishes to serve as a volunteer must complete a VOLY volunteer application and criminal history search each school year. Are you a graduating senior who attended Beverly Elementary for at least four years? If so, you may be eligible for the Elizabeth and Thomas Kirby Scholarship! This annual scholarship is offered in partnership with Elizabeth Kirby, Beverly’s founding principal, to honor the memory of her son, Thomas B. Kirby (1973-2017).
