Our 3rd and 4th graders did a great job persevering during MCAS testing this week. This assessment can be daunting at this age level and we are so proud of their hard work. For students that were absent, they will be making up the test following our April break. We have a couple of weeks before our mathematics testing begins. Below is the schedule:

• Grade 4- May 11&12

Byam WALK-A-THON: Sign-Up by April 14th!

The Byam Walk-a-Thon is back! Have you signed your child up for the biggest event of the Byam school year?! May 21st, 11am-3pm (rain or shine!) Get the whole family together to participate in a day full of exercise, socializing, dancing, fun and PRIZES! Louie the Lion has been out walking laps to get himself ready!

BYAM ART GALLERY WALK- APRIL 28th, 5:00-7:00pm

Stop by Byam School anytime between 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday 4/28/2022 to view the amazing artwork created by our students this year. Every child will have work displayed. Kindergarten and 4th grade artwork will be displayed on the first floor. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade will have artwork displayed on the second floor. There will also be a lovely photo opportunity in the lobby, an art scavenger hunt, and some giant posters in the Art room where you can "Make Your Mark" with a doodle! You can also stop by the Scholastic Book Fair while you are at Byam!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR- April 28-30th

Thursday 4/28 and Friday 4/29 from 4PM-6:30PM, and Saturday 4/30 8:30AM-11:30 AM

*RAFFLE (with each purchase, each child/children will be entered for a chance to win)!

*Have your picture taken with LOUIE (Louie making his appearance Thursday and Friday after 4:30PM and Saturday morning, 4/30)!

Online Purchasing: Can’t come in person? Don’t see the book you want at our in-person fair? That’s ok! Our book fair homepage will be made available for online purchasing 4/28-5/2!

BOOK FAIR VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

• 3:30PM spots involve rolling out and setting up the book fair

• 6:30PM spots involve closing up and rolling the book fair back inside (should not take the whole 30 minutes, especially if 2 people volunteer-then there will be 3 of us doing it)

• The volunteer spots during the fair involve register/sales, and photo-booth with Louie (camera will be provided)

Save the Date for 4TH Grade Parent Volunteers on June 10th

Whether you can volunteer for just an hour, or the entire day, we'd love to have volunteers join the 4th graders on June 10th to make the celebration day amazing for all the kids. Specific volunteer slots will be sent out closer to the event, but please save the date! 4th grade parents are also invited to join their child for a picnic lunch midday (adults please bring your own food).
