Title 1 Parent Meeting
Each year our Title 1 staff hosts an informational meeting for parents as we navigate a new school year. We want to make sure parents understand the support that we can offer. Please plan to attend our upcoming meeting. We would love to meet you and discuss how we can help your student.
Opportunities at JCMS
JCMS has several club opportunities for students to get involved! Below are a list of the current opportunities available. Please note that any student that participates in a club activity should have prior arrangements made for how they will get home after the meeting ends.

More club information will be released as the school year progresses!
Panther Study
Panther Study is an after school program in which students can receive extra support and time to work on their assignments. Parents can arrange for up to 2 days per week for a student to stay until 4:30 to work on homework or get some extra support for the assigned work. If you are interested in signing up your student, please reach out to Mrs. Field. More information is found on the attached flyer.
NWEA Testing
This week JCMS will be wrapping up NWEA testing! As a reminder, NWEA is the assessment tool Jennings County Schools utilizes to determine a benchmark for each student and to create an individualized plan for each student in language arts and math. Students will take the language test in the ELA classes on Tuesday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 21st. Any student that needs to make up and/or finish a test will do so this week. Students should make sure they have their Chromebook charged and ready for testing!
Welcome to JCMS, Ms. Parr!
JCMS is excited to welcome Ms. Parr! Ms. Parr will be the new School Counselor for the 8th grade. Ms. Parr is a Jennings County native and is ecstatic to be back home and working at JCMS! She's spent the previous three years working with Hospice, and also ran a teen support group at Columbus Central Middle School. Be sure to welcome Ms. Parr when you see her!
