The Homecoming parade is tonight at 6 pm followed by the varsity football game at 7pm. The parade starts at the BECC building and continues down Main Street to the high school. One change to the parade this year is that candy will be given out from the back of the parade, not throughout.
Monday October 14 there is a fundraiser at Airborne for Hornung Elementary. Please see the flier below for details on how to purchase jump time.
Friday October 18 is picture retake day. We have a list of all students that were absent for picture day and need a picture taken. If you would like retakes for your student for other reasons, please email Mary Beth at harrismz@gmail.com with their name and teacher. Thank you!
Friday October 18 is also science exploration day! This is a hands-on Science program that takes place during the school day that all students get to participate in. To run this event we need a lot of parent volunteers throughout the day to help run stations. All setup will be taken care of before volunteers arrive, and directions will be provided for each station. So, all you have to do is show-up and help the kids explore and learn. If you would like to help, please use the link for our volunteer sign-up below.

Reporting Your Student's Absence in Parent Connect
There is a helpful feature in Parent Connect that allows you to enter your studentβs absence. Simply log into parent connect and click on the link Report Absence. The Report Absence link will open a screen for you to complete. If you have more than one student check the name of the student for whom an absence is being submitted. Add the applicable dates. If you check the All Day flag attendance will be submitted for the am and pm periods. If you do not check the All Day flag times must be entered and attendance will be submitted for whichever periods meet during the time range (based on period schedule). If you use Parent Connect to report your child's absence you do not need to call the attendance line.
Friendly Reminder - Therapy Dog
We wanted to share a friendly reminder to our families about pets on school grounds. Because our school has a therapy dog, we ask that non-service animals be kept at home. This is for the safety of our therapy dog, Suzie. When Suzie is at school she is trained to do a job. When other dogs are on the property during school hours it is distracting for her and/or could put her in potential danger.
Thank you for understanding.
