INCREDIBLES IN THE LIBRARY

Our librarian, Ms. Levine, has been introducing students to the reading materials in library. The school now uses online software called Destiny Discover to locate and learn about books. Each student can access this software through the school website.

Here is how Destiny Discover describes the software's purpose. It "enables librarians and administrators to keep thorough, real-time track of a library’s inventory and media assets while also giving students a fun means of discovery and reading".

Some special features of the software are as follows: It can help students keep track of what they have read and it allows them to write and share reviews of books.

EARLY MORNING CHORUS

Ms. Maher's chorus group were singing beautifully at the very start of Tuesday, October 31st. They were engaged in a warmup activity when these photos were taken.

TEAM RENAISSANCE IS LOOKING FOR BOXES

Renaissance is beginning to prepare for their annual operation happiness food drive. They are trying to collect many empty boxes for the food collection process that will take place after the November holiday. Over the next three weeks, bring any boxes you can spare to the team Renaissance classroom spaces. Thank you.

STEAM FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NIGHT

Finally! A chance for adults in your family to discover all of the amazing tools that the SACs makerspace has to offer. In this adult workshop, you will create and make a variety of projects with the STEAM Team, while your school-aged children have a pizza and movie night hosted by SACs staff.

Pre-registration is required! Limited to 20 Adults

OPEN DOORS SESSION TWO SIGN-UP

Hello City School Students and Families,

Our second session of Open Doors will run November 27th - December 21st on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, depending on your choice of class. Dismissal/pick up time will be at 4:15 in the front of the school. Bussing is available, you will need to sign up (see transportation section). After school snacks will be provided.

OPERATION HAPPINESS FOR THE ST. ALBANS COMMUNITY

Operation Happiness is a program of the United Way Northwest VT. It provides a basket of food and gifts for the children in a family (16 and under) for nearly 1000 needy families in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties for the Holidays (Christmastime).

Registration phone numbers, dates and times are based on location and listed in THIS DOCUMENT

For St. Albans you need to call and register on weekdays between November 6th and 17th.
