High School
December Newsletter - Counseling Corner
December
Each month, the Counseling Department is going to be highlighting a topic of importance for our high schoolers in sessions and information around the school. This month the we will focus on Human Rights
December recognizes National Human Rights Month. This month and every month to follow, everyone in the United States is encouraged to come together and stand up for equality, justice, and the dignity of all humans. December is a time to honor the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, an international document stating the fundamental rights and freedoms to which all human beings are entitled. These rights include freedom from discrimination, the right to equality, and the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
Announcement - FAFSAthon!!!!
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a crucial step for high school students and their parents in securing financial assistance for college. By working closely with their school counselor, families can navigate the often complex FAFSA process more effectively. School Counselors provide valuable guidance on eligibility requirements, deadlines, and necessary documentation, ensuring that students maximize their potential financial aid packages.
Additionally, they can offer insights into various scholarship opportunities and resources that may be available based on the information provided in the FAFSA. Collaborative efforts with school counselors not only streamline the application process but also empower students to make informed decisions about their higher education financing options, ultimately making college more accessible and affordable.
