North Star Newsletter January 2025
A message from Mr. Horning, Head of School
Hello All,
Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone had an amazing break and spent some much needed family time. Second semester is off and running, as well as our lottery season. It’s that time of year where we ask that our families help us spread the word about how great North Star continues to be. Word of mouth is our major form of marketing and your testimony keeps our culture intact and moving in a positive direction.
I want to take a moment to thank all of our families for making staff members feel so appreciated during the holidays. The kind words, gifts, and delicious treats make December such a wonderful time for all staff. Thank you for continuing to support the hard working staff of North Star.
Students are starting to wipe the sleep from their eyes and getting back into their day to day routines. Energy is high and we are excited for a spring filled with new and creative opportunities for our students. Make sure to stay connected going forward, because you won’t want to miss some of the activities coming up both in and out of the classroom. Take some time to look through this month's newsletter. This is a great way to show others how amazing North Star is, and this is just a snapshot.
Have a great Day
Go Huskies,
AH

Senior Project: Elementary Mindfulness Workshop
Are you interested?
Come join us for an engaging workshop that is designed for elementary grade students in order to foster self regulation to decrease the effects of stress, anxiety, and over-stimulation. Our workshop session will allow students to have hands-on experience with a certified mindfulness instructor. By learning how to tune into their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in a non-judgmental way, students will gain greater emotional resilience and a better understanding of their inner world. The tools that are taught in this workshop can help students navigate difficult situations more effectively, improving their ability to focus, manage stress, and build positive relationships with others. Attending this workshop will not only teach your child much needed mindfulness tools to apply in school, but also in their everyday lives.
