GOOD EVENING, VIKINGS!
With just five days of instruction left before finals, and no school on the next two Mondays, time is of the essence. We will be on the Finals Schedule Thursday, 1/23 and Friday, 1/24.
The Social Science Fair, held yesterday and today, was a resounding success. Students demonstrated impressive research skills and creativity as they shared their passion for history through engaging presentations! See pics below.
Local Accountability Control Plan (LCAP) Survey
It's time again to resurvey our stakeholders! The LCAP is a three-year plan that outlines how a school district will use its funding to improve student outcomes. This year is the beginning of another cycle and we NEED parent input. Please click LTUSD 2024-2025 LCAP Survey - Parent, Community Member to share your voice! Thank you.
Automated Weekly Progress Reports are Coming
We've been doing some work with Aeries to send automated progress reports for ALL students each week starting with the spring term on Monday, January 27th. Here's the scoop:
- Each parent will have their own specific day/time their email is sent (this is created at random during the initial set up).
- Parents will then have the option to modify the day and time they are set to receive the emails.
- Parents will also have the option to opt out of the email entirely.
- The emails will contain current attendance and gradebook information.
- Look for a sample progress report in next week's Vike.
A word about Snow Days
As you know, this year we are piloting a new calendar structure designed to enhance student learning. Previously, adding makeup days at the end of the year often proved insufficient to recover from instructional time lost, particularly during the Fall Term. This year will serve as a pilot, allowing us to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach for the future. We appreciate your understanding and support as we implement this change. The next Tentative School Closure Day is May 2.
Update on Restrooms
It's been a significant commitment, but our restroom situation at STHS is much improved. They're no longer being destroyed, trashed, or serving as hangouts for groups of kids. Vaping referrals in restrooms are also nonexistent. I'd like to thank our Security and Leadership teams for covering "restroom duty" every day, multiple times a day!
Proud to be a VIKE!

The LTCC math club has started its K-12 tutoring and we welcome all children from Kindergarten through 12th grade to come to the college to get help with their mathematics. The volunteer tutors will be in the Mezzanine, halfway up the main stairway, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursdays, except on Thanksgiving week and Veterans Day, until the week before finals. The children should bring their math to do and the math club volunteers will help them. There is no charge for this tutoring and no appointments are needed.
