Dear Page Families,
Be sure to read the newsletter for important updates, upcoming dates, and valuable information to stay connected and informed! Reminder - NO SCHOOL - Monday, February 17th - Presidents Day Holiday.
1. 5th Grade Climate Survey - February 17 - 21st - Attention 5th grade Families Maryland state law requires that all public schools must survey students about school climate. The purpose of the survey is to gain valuable information about the quality and character of each school’s learning environment so that schools can promote a climate that supports student learning.
5th grade students at Page will take the Maryland School Survey during their non-special day class between February 17 - February 21, 2025. Currently the schedule is the following:
• Mrs. Boaston and Mrs. Payne’s will take the survey Wednesday, February 19th
• Mrs. Cruz, Ms. Gonzalez, Ms. Serra will take the survey Friday, February 21st
The survey will ask students about topics such as student engagement, interactions with adults and with other students in the school, the school environment, bullying, and safety. The survey will not ask about a student’s personal experiences, nor will they be asked to provide any information that might violate their privacy.
The survey is confidential and school personnel will not have access to the responses of specific students. The responses your child provides will be combined with the responses from other students in the school, and results will be reported for each school and district. If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Caryn_E_Maxwell@mcpsmd.org, as the testing coordinator.
2. Career Day - March 14th (We Need Presenters) - We are seeking professionals in the community workers and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields to provide a fun “visual and interactive” 15 minute in-person presentation. If you are unable to participate in-person, a pre-recorded virtual session may be submitted. Link to sign-up and flyer is below with more information.
3. The Page PTA Annual Silent Auction – Starts today February 16th and ends February 21st. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit our students, providing everything from classroom supplies, to technology upgrades, to extracurricular activities and special events. 4. Repeated Information - Immigration Supports for MCPS families - Message from MCPS - Our schools are and will always remain safe places where every child—regardless of immigration status—is welcomed, valued, affirmed, validated, respected, and loved.
