🚫 Bullying Prevention Month
What is Bullying Prevention Month? The Month of October is Bullying Prevention Month and our goal is to encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyber-bullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on children of all ages.
What is Bullying?
"Bullying" means any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. "Bullying" includes cyber-bullying. "Bullying" does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument or peer conflict. (WPS Parent/Student Handbook)
What if my child is being bullied?
Confirm bullying behavior with your child (occurring multiple times with the intention of being hurtful). Ask if they have told anyone at school or if any adults have witnessed the bullying. Reach out to someone at the school who can help.
🎉 Hispanic Heritage Month 🎉
For Hispanic Heritage Month, there will be different events happening within our community spread throughout September and October.
Please join us at these events as a celebration of our Hispanic community!
