Hello McIntire Families!
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! The staff at McIntire are looking forward to a great school year of learning, collaboration, and growth for ALL of our students.
For the first time in over 30 years, McIntire will not have Kindergarten as part of our building. We are returning the majority of our staff and students from last year, inviting a few new faces. We are at a pivotal moment and are optimistic for the best school year yet!
Please expect communication from your child's teacher on a weekly basis. This will likely be in the form of a newsletter but also could come in the form of a Remind message. You will hear from us monthly on the first Friday via newsletter. If you are looking for more frequent updates, follow our McIntire Facebook Page!
Let's commit to partnering together this school year to making this a positive school experience for your child! To do this, we need your help in communicating any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have directly to us or any of our staff.

School Supply List and Support
Parents in the Building
We welcome parents into the building at McIntire with a scheduled appointment or planned events. This will allow us to serve you to the best of our abilities. For consistency purposes and increasing instructional time, please do not walk your student into the building at arrival. Your student walking into the building and getting to class on their own, helps build your child's independence.
Class Assignments
Class assignments will be visible in Infinite Campus by the end of the day on August 16th.
Attendance
Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast will still be provided to all students this school year at no cost. Lunch will cost if you do not qualify for Free or Reduced lunch. Fill out the FRAM application below to see if your family qualifies. If you need a paper copy, we can get one of those to you at Open House.

7:50 - Doors Open
8:15 - Instruction Begins
3:30 - Car Rider Dismissal
3:40 - Walker Dismissal
Bus riders will load as the buses arrive.
Arrival Procedures
Goals of arrival:
- Get students safely out of vehicles and into the building.
- Keep traffic moving to ensure timely transitions for families.
- Please do not drop students off before 7:50. Students needs to stay in their vehicle until this time.
- The front circle drive will be for car rider drop off only.
- The lane closest to the school and sidewalk will be open for drop off.
- The middle lane will be opened for overflow until traffic begins to move. At this point we will only use the far right lane only.
- The far left lane will be closed. Do not use to exit.
- Do not pull around cars that are stopped, this is for the safety of all students.
- You will be directed to pull "all the way down" to the far end of the circle drive.
- Once stopped, please have child get out of the car.
- Please do not park or exit your car in the front circle drive during arrival.
- If you need to park and come into the building, please use the north parking lot. This will allow for better traffic flow.
- Follow staff directions.
***Buses will utilize the parking lot on the north end of the building for arrival and dismissal. Students will enter the building through the north end of the building.
Dismissal Procesures
Goals of Dismissal:
- Get students into vehicles safely.
- Keep traffic moving to ensure timely transitions for families.
- Pull all the way up and fill in all 3 lanes.
- Secure your hang tag on your mirror or in your front window so staff can see your child/children's name.
- 3:30 Students will begin being called down based on cars lined up in the lane.
- Please do not get out of your vehicle to get students.
- Staff will get students into cars.
- Cars will not be moved until students are loaded in their cars.
- Do not pull away until directed by staff.
- Please watch for staff direction on when to exit.
- Parents wishing to park and walk their students to the car in the parking lot or on the street will be called down at 3:40.
- Please be mindful of the no parking zone on the school side of Hickman Avenue.
***Want to avoid the traffic? Come a little later. You are welcome to pick your child up until 3:45.
Transportation Changes
Needing to make a transportation change? Give the office a call before 2:00 so that we can make the appropriate changes in our system.
Parking at McIntire
The parking lot on the north end of the school building will be available for family parking before, during, and after the school day. During the school day, there will be 6 parking spots (2 handicap) in front of the building for your use. If you need more time to drop your child off in the morning, this is a great location to park.
Character Strong
We will continue to use Character Strong's Purposeful People curriculum during "Hornet Huddle" this school year. The first few weeks of school we will be engaging in the Kindness Kickoff! More information below.
