McIntire Elementary School
Mission: High Levels of Learning for ALL!
Title I Notification
Title I Notification
At the beginning and end of each year, we inform parents of McIntire School’s participation in Title I and to explain Title I requirements and the right of parents to be involved.
An Overview of School-wide Programs
A schoolwide program is a comprehensive reform strategy designed to upgrade the entire educational program in a Title I school; its primary goal is to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academic achievement standards. This school-wide reform strategy requires the school to do the following:
Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment
Identify and commit to specific goals and strategies that address those needs
Create a comprehensive plan
Conduct an annual review of the effectiveness of the schoolwide program and revise the plan as necessary
Title I regulations require that a school operating a schoolwide program annually evaluate the implementation of, and results achieved by the schoolwide program. This evaluation must determine whether the school-wide program was effective in increasing the achievement of students in meeting the State’s academic standards, particularly those students who had been furthest from achieving the standards. The school must revise its plan as necessary based on the results of the evaluation to ensure the continuous improvement of student achievement (34 CFT 200.26(c)).
Each year, our school reviews the current schoolwide plan, the current data we have available, and revises the plan to address any concerns that arise from the data analysis. One component of the plan is parent involvement, which includes your involvement in your child’s education and in the planning/decision making process. We would like to encourage you to complete any surveys sent to you, to attend parent teacher conferences, activity nights, and other school related activities.
We also have a parent advisory board that meets in April each year. If anyone would like to serve on the board, please let Mrs. Metz, Ms. Gravemann, Mrs. Moore or Mrs. Crane know.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
We haven't gotten a final count yet, but Mrs. Small and Mrs. Lane passed out at least 250 BINGO sheets and PTO sold out of pizza. That makes Friday night a success! Thank you for coming and supporting your grandchild or special friend. We appreciate your time and we loved getting to meet Mimi, Pop, Gigi, Pappy, Grandma, Grandpa, and everyone else.
Arrival at McIntire
Teachers arrive at McIntire School at 7:40 am unless they have a meeting before that. Therefore, there is no supervision for students who arrive before 7:45 am. Please do not drop students off before this time. We have a before and after-school childcare program (BAC-PAC) for students who need to arrive before 7:45 am. Please call Julie Bell at 590-8080 if you would like to enroll your child in the BAC-PAC program.
