Boyden Weekly Update
January 10, 2025
Message from Mr. Connor
Dear Families,
My name is Ed Connor and I’ve had the pleasure of working with your children and the staff at Boyden for the last few weeks while Mr. Dearborn has been on medical leave. I’ve been in contact with him frequently during this time and I can tell you that he’s doing well, getting better everyday, and looking forward to coming back on January 21. I’ve found that the Boyden school community is a terrific place to work. The students are very friendly and eager to learn. The staff is extremely supportive of all of the children and of their colleagues. While my stay here will have been a short one, I feel like I've been welcomed into a new family. So I wanted to say thank you for all you do to get your children ready to be at school and be in the best position possible to learn. From what I’ve seen, they have unlimited potential and I look forward to hearing about their future success in Walpole and beyond.
Please take the time to read the rest of this newsletter for some important updates and information about our school.
Take care,
Ed Connor

Nurse Notes
It’s cold and flu season! Please see the reminder below of when your student should stay home from school. Let’s work together to stay healthy!
When to stay home from school
Please keep your child home when sick for his or her health and safety and for those children around them.
Your child should be fever free (under 100.0 F) for 24 hours (without the use of NSAIDS or acetaminophen i.e. Tylenol or Motrin) before returning to school.
Your child should be 24 hours free of vomiting or diarrhea before returning to school.
If your child has an undiagnosed rash, they should be evaluated by a medical professional before returning to school.
Conjunctivitis should be evaluated by your child's doctor. If your child has been prescribed antibiotics, they are able to return to school 24 hours after the first dose.
Thank you for your cooperation
