Principal's Weekly Update #8
October 25, 2024
Hello Families,
Happy Friday!
A message from our PTO:
Harvest Hoedown is scheduled for this evening, Friday, October 25th from 6-8 pm. There will be drinks and food for purchase in the cafeteria, music, and fun activities. The evening will end with trunk or treating at 7:30 as your family is leaving for the evening. Children are welcome to wear their costumes. Please remember that weapons, even toy ones as part of a costume, are not allowed on school property.
Today we hosted the Wales Fire Department for our annual fire safety visits. The firefighters and EMTs shared with our students all about the work they do, the tools they use, and how to help ensure that they and their families are safe. A huge thank you to the Wales Volunteer Fire Department for their commitment to our families and for their dedication to helping others!
Next week we will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. During this week we will encourage healthy habits and we have fun themes each day. See below for the daily Red Ribbon Theme. If you are looking for additional community resources, please visit the ITAC website. https://www.itacemw.com/#/.
Reminder that on 10/31 our classrooms will host their fall holiday parties and the parade is at 1:15. Parents are welcome to come and stand outside to watch the parade- we start inside and move outside. If weather is not great- we will go through the gym and parents can stand in the gym to watch the parade.
A few reminders about your child's costume:
- please pack your child's costume in a bag labeled with their name on it- they should NOT wear their costume to school
-please remember that weapons of any kind (even pretend or toy ones) are not allowed at school
-we ask that costumes are developmentally appropriate and not too scary or revealing
-they should be able to get their costume on/off without adult support
-masks can obscure view and could be a safety concern so please be aware
-we ask that children do not wear full face make-up while at school
We have one more fire drill to conduct which we will do next week weather dependent.
Thank you, as always, for your support, and have a great weekend!
