Welcome to our latest school newsletter
Dear Families,
We hope this finds you well and ready for the exciting things happening at school.
I wanted to start off with a big thank you to Bunnings for their incredible support with our garden renovation today—it truly transformed our schoolyard into a scene from "Backyard Blitz"! We are immensely grateful for their generosity and hard work.
Don't forget about the Fun Run at Victoria Park Lake tomorrow! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to fundraising for this event. Your support makes a huge difference, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.
We are now accepting enrolments for Foundation students for 2025. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please contact the office to arrange a school tour. You can also find more enrolment information on our website.
Next week, we invite all mothers to join us for Croissants with Mum before school at 8 AM on Friday, May 10th. This is also a Walk to School Day, and we encourage all families to participate if possible.
Congratulations to all the students who took part in the interschool cross country event. We are proud of your effort and sportsmanship!
As always, my door is open to you. Feel free to reach out or stop by anytime you have questions or just want to chat.
Looking forward to another wonderful week at school!
Warm regards,
Gary D'Arma
Grade 4 Melbourne Camp
Grade 4 Camp – By Makai Kareko
On Wednesday we got dropped off at the train station by our parents. They gave us a kiss goodbye and went. At 9:00 we hopped on the train, put our luggage above us and got to Melbourne at 11:49am. We got off at Southern Cross station and grabbed our luggage. We lined up in class order and walked to our hotel CYC, dropped our bags off and walked to the Shrine of Remembrance. We stayed there until recess. There was lots of stuff there from WW1, WW2 and real soldier’s uniforms. My favourite part was the balcony at the Shrine of Remembrance.
Camp – By Harper Campbell
On Wednesday the 17th of April we went to camp! First we met the teachers at the train station in Shepparton. Our parents had to sign us in, then we went on the train. I sat next to Sienna on the train and we were laughing the whole time. We dropped our bags at the place we were staying in CYC City, then we all walked to the Shrine of Remembrance. The people that worked there explained to us what we were doing. We got to stand at a black table and listen to a story about a picture. After a while we ate our lunch then went back to where we were staying. I got to know what cabin I was in. The people in my cabin were Alexa, Aleeya, Ashlyn and Trini.
KITCHEN
Our Year 4s have been busy baking in the kitchen.
Potato and rosemary pizza (even the dough was homemade ), banana and strawberry smoothie followed by apple and cinnamon muffins.
Shepparton Anzac Memorial Service
Thanks to Thomas and Kenzie for representing Bourchier Street Primary School last Thursday and laying a wreath at the Shepparton Anzac memorial service. Lest we forget.
Our Year Ones made some collages to commemorate Anzac Day with their Year Five buddies. They looked amazing!!
Tree Planting
Yesterday Kylie and Emily from Greater Shepparton City Council visited our school to spend the morning planting trees with our Year 4 students.
During this session our students learnt that planting trees can help promote sustainable living by reducing carbon emissions, mitigating climate change, and conserving natural resources.
We hope our Year 4 students have developed a sense of responsibility towards the environment and the importance of trees.
