August Students of the Month
7th Grade - Layla Byrd & Bentson Borde
Layla was nominated for being an absolute joy in the classroom. If she misses class she takes care of her business. She is active in the class and gets along with her classmates.
Bentson was nominated for always having a great attitude in class and is not afraid to ask for help when needed. He has been an amazing addition to my classroom. He truly works hard everyday and tries his best to be better every day. I’m so glad he was drafted by HJH this year, because he swung for the fences on his unit 1 test and knocked it out of the park! He is such a sweet kid, always willing to help others, and I cannot wait to see his math ability grow throughout the year! Benny always has a smile on his face. He is constantly working, and is a pleasure to have in class.
8th Grade - Monica Botello and Cohen Peyton
Monica was nominated for being a very polite young woman who always has a smile on her face. She listens attentively when I am speaking to the class. She works diligently on her assignments. She is a good student and her grades reflect it. She is always ready with answers during Fluency each class period.
Cohen was nominated for being an outstanding student. He is always eager to participate. His contributions to discussions are amazing. His work ethic and sense of humor makes him a pleasure to teach. He is a diligent student and picks up on math concepts quickly, therefore excelling in his math class. He also does a good job at explaining concepts to his table to help them better understand.
